Here it is, again, the feeling that I will never be able to paint again. So I went to the local yarn club. I was welcomed warmly by women from ten years old to (guessing) sixties or seventies. I am reproducing an ear warmer I bought online years ago that I love.

First morning of May.
You see how time flies?
It will be only 4 months until Autumn arrives.

By then, we will be craving rain.
Tragedies and joys will have been imprinted in our hearts, and bellies full of fruit and memories of a summer we will soon be missing when the cold tries to break our bones, much like spirits are broken by mundane hardships.

In the middle of it all, cats patiently wait for food. And birds sing. And flowers open, shine, and die.

16 days since my precious Rudy left his body.
I don't recall a time in my nearly 6 decades alive when I both cried and wrote this much, in this short period of time.

Most of you are not friends with me on my personal account or my instagram so I am reposting this here as a tribute, and because a few of you helped me with Rudy's vet bill over a year ago when he almost died from pancreatitis. Ever since then, his little body started breaking down. He left his body yesterday. He was only 13. He was never a healthy dog from the get go. But he was a perfect dog.

This is a pivotal point in my life story. There is before and after Rudy. Life without him means I have to relearn how to do it. Today, I struggled to breathe. It took a dog for me to learn what true love and devotion feels like.
