Videos by Pawsitive Motion Dog Training. I love watching the transformation of the dog actually becoming an inclusive part of the family!
When your dog is trained, it opens up their world to more fun & freedoms. Some Northwest fun this week for Shelby!
Shelby got some new shoes today & as a trainer, these are great quality for the $5 price tag ($15 on ebay) at Nky-Bargain Outlet ! There are several more if anyone wants some. I saw sizes starting at xxs.
26d snow play! She loves it & I love watching her enjoy it❣️ Had to give her some play time before it gets cold again 😳
Recently, I've realized that Shelby has been hovering pretty close to me with storms. The storms here are more frequent & intense than in New England & she's not used to it, soooooo......we go on the deck periodically. I sit in the chair with my feet up, so she has to lay at least a small distance away. As she watches, hears & feels the wind, she gets rewarded for *not* reacting. Next, we'll be practicing on the deck with the Midwest thunder. No guarantees that I'll be home for every storm, so she needs to learn how to deal & tolerate it. In this video, she is def alert & aware, which is fine. She's tolerating...if that's as good as it gets, that's fine. No whining, barking, pacing, destruction, etc. going on. That's the goal!
A huge shout out to the wonderful couple (you know who you are!) who gifted an extra ticket to Three Days Grace & Shinedown, in exchange for some training with your new 2nd dog! It was a challenge, but we got through it 😄 The concert was great & I truly thank you 🥰
Went to a nature preserve today in Morning View. Shelby *loves* her free time, but there's always a little practice worked into it. When you have a well trained recall, the world opens up for your dog ❤️ As she went ahead, I stopped walking to see how long it took her to notice, which was only about 10 secs, then the recall & sit.
When you accidently buy the toy with the squeaker, make it that "special" toy for outstanding behavior 😁 Then after you give it to your dog, put your ear buds in & limit the toy to your preference (or your neighbors'). This squeaker happens to be quite potent...
7/4/22 Fireworks
For me, July 4th is a good time for some reinforcement (practice) training for my dog with fireworks. I'm fortunate to have the best view in the house & at any one time, there were at least 10 different firework displays going on. And there's my dog, just laying laying there, not reacting. We stayed for over an hour & no signs of anxiety, even with the Riverfest display. Couldn't be more proud tonight ❤️
Shelby at the pool #1
Shelbys 1st time at a pool, rather than a pond. Some apprehension, but watch the progress in the comments videos. Total time at the pool was 1/2 an hour. Time & patience!
Another successful session with Loki. I messed up the before video, but he was pulling in all directions, nose to the ground, not paying attention to the owner (who had a very tight grip on the leash). This video is about 1/2 hr after working Loki into his new way of going for a walk! Sorry for the shakiness 🤣
