Ever wondered how your credit score is determined? 🤔 It's not just a random number – it's a financial fingerprint that can open doors to your financial dreams! 🚪💰
🔍 Let's break it down:
1️⃣ **Payment History:** 💵 Paying bills on time is key! Late payments can ding your score. This is the largest percentage of your score!!
2️⃣ **Credit Utilization or Amounts owed:** 📈 How much credit you use vs. what's available. Aim for below 30%!
3️⃣ **Length of Credit History:** ⏳ The longer, the better! Keep those old accounts open.
4️⃣ **Credit Mix:** 🌈 A mix of credit types (credit cards, loans) can boost your score.
5️⃣ **New Credit:** 🆕 Opening lots of new accounts in a short time can raise red flags.
6️⃣ **Public Records:** 📜 Things like bankruptcies can have a big impact.
Understanding these factors and managing your finances wisely can help you achieve that dream credit score! 🌟💳
Pro tip: Regularly check your credit report to catch any errors and stay on top of your financial game. 💼💪

7 steps to help you improve your credit score!!
Being in debt is overwhelming. It causes a tremendous amount of stress to our mental wellbeing. After awhile, that mole hill of debt becomes a mountain you can't climb on your own. And that's ok, you don't have to do it alone.
The consumer price index makes this Memorial Day the most expensive one in the last 4 decades. From gas to food, Americans will be paying 10-30% higher prices depending on where you live.
Times like these, it's important to plan ahead:
- Follow a budget that plans for vacations and groceries.
- Look for ways to scale back -- like hosting a potluck or traveling outside of high-travel times.
- Look for deals and sales in the months, weeks and days leading up to holidays.
Summer can still be enjoyable when you plan ahead!
Two things are true: everything is expensive right now & we're often forced to buy/replace unexpected things.
That's why it's important to have an emergency fund for those times you HAVE to replace things unexpectedly. For instance, if your refrigerator breaks.
But it's also important to follow a budget and plan ahead for bigger expenses you know you'll need in the next 6-12 months.
Scenarios -- Have your kids gone through a growth spurt requiring a new seasonal wardrobe? Did you pack away your grill last season knowing you'll likely need a new one next year?
Planning ahead for these things gives you time to track prices and look for sales. Being a smart consumer helps save you money in the long run.
If you don't have an emergency fund of at LEAST $1000, and you aren't following a budget, let's talk!
Spending money to save money sounds counterintuitive, right?
We recently combed through all our data to determine whether working with a financial coach is worth it.
We know working with a financial coach helps hold you accountable, helps alleviate financial stress, and helps educate you on important financial matters. We're also upfront about the fact that there's no secret method we use to help you become debt free.
So why should you work with a financial coach?
We've been able to lower the estimated debt-free date down for every single client we've worked with.

Can money buy you happiness?
In my experience working with people struggling with debt, the more money you make the more debt you're in.
There are 3 issues that cause debt:
1) You don't make enough money
2) You're living beyond your means
3) You don't have visibility/control over your finances
Gaining control of your finances is the first step. From there, we work to stay on budget and build your wealth.

It’s never too late to change career paths – especially when the career doesn’t require a college degree!
In theory, anyone can become a millionaire regardless of occupation. All you have to do is save your money diligently and invest it consistently and intelligently.
But there’s no doubt that specific careers lend themselves better to becoming a millionaire than others.

If you have parent guilt when it comes to not being able to afford all the extracurricular activities your child(ren) is interested in, try these at-home activities. Spending time with you is often enough.
The best strategy is breaking even, owing the IRS an amount you can easily pay, or getting a small refund.
If you’re receiving a large refund, consider putting that towards debt, savings, or investments. If you have trouble putting money away throughout the year, this may work best for you.
