Women's Victorian Dodgeball League

2018 WVDL SEASON!

We’re pleased to officially announce that the 2018 WVDL Season will be run alongside the mixed and men’s leagues of Victorian Dodgeball League!
We hope that bringing all divisions under the same roof will help connect our Dodgeball family!

MAJOR DETAILS

Registration: $75 and includes all leagues (both women’s and mixed), a VDL warmup shirt, ADF membership and a new team logo design.
Register as individuals or teams, with a cap of 3 Australian Dodgeball Federation Representatives from 2016-17.
Start date: May 5th
One WVDL game and two co-ed VDL games per round, so get involved in the co-ed league if you want more game time! (There is a futures division which is perfect for ladies new to co-ed dodgeball!) Contact us if you need help finding a team!

Just letting you know that after the tournament on Saturday there will be a kind of mini after party lunch at a pub near by The Clyde in Carlton (Cardigan Street). All welcome, no need to book 👍🏻

We made them later to give everyone a little sleep in and to try to get as many people to come along as possible! Tell your family and friends to come down and watch these four teams fight it out for the gold! We would love to get a big crowd and have lots of cheering!

Well here it is ladies and gentlemen!
This is the ladder as it stands after the first ever season of WVDL!
Congratulations to the foxes, octopuses, black widows and unicorns who all progress to finals this year!
As you can see, there wasn’t much separating 4th from 6th place.
We are so proud at how far all these incredible women have come in just one season.

Apologies for the lack of posting over the past few months ladies. We have had 3/4 board members repping Australia in the Asian Cup in Malaysia (cloth) AND the foam World Championships in Toronto! Picking up a cool silver along the way !💪😎

Anywho, here is the long awaited ladder!
With one week left, it will be a fight for 4th place with the top 3 teams (almost) assured a place in the top 4! Excitement!!!!!

Ok, so things to remember:

•Please read the fixture for "practice round" and make sure you arrive at least 15mins prior to your start time to allow for organising money and to warm up.

•Teams are also rostered on to line ref (only 2 people needed per team) so please read carefully.

*note please bring cash as the closest ATM is definitely not close. Lol.

•$140 per team, per round (2 games).

•If you have less than 6 players, the game fee will be capped at $20 per player so no team gets stuck paying paying a large amount when they need fill ins. 👍🏻

•77 story street university high school

•car pooling is highly encouraged as parking is limited

•bring drink bottles, snacks, dodgeball gear and good behaviour 😜

If any teams are having trouble finding players for fill ins or if you know someone who is keen to fill in, please message us and we will do our best to accommodate.

Ladies!

So we've got some good news and we've got some bad news... 😬

Bad news is, uniforms won't be ready next week. 😔

Good news is that we have decided to make next week a "practice round" so that no one has to play the first round without uniforms!
We felt this "practice round" would be beneficial for teams as they were randomise, so you may be playing with women you have never played with before or possibly even met!
Please use this opportunity to get some team spirit injected into the competition.

Since we will be using this months WVDL as a practice round, we needed to add October 7th to the arsenal.

Full season of Fixtures are in the works and will be on their way to your eyes sooner rather than later.

In case you have been living under a dodgeball and haven't heard.... the WDBF World Championships start next Wednesday here in our lovely temperamental Melbourne town!!!
Come watch our Aus Men's and Aus Women's teams battle it out for gold against some of the world's toughest competitors! The host city has also been able to put forth a Melbourne Women's team so you now get double the chance to cheer on your girls!


Bring along your family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, uni mates, acquaintances, enemies, local doctors or even one of those creepy clown guys that are all over the news recently (not really as they will scare the kiddies lol). Let's let everyone see how amazing this sport actually is!
