I was so excited to share this project with y’all before UPS ruined everything. I got the opportunity to make a large sign for actor, author, and veteran Vincent “Rocco” Vargas. You may know him as Gilly from the hit tv show Mayans MC or in his music videos with Mat Best. The sign would be the backdrop in his podcast show VinnyRoc. Pretty cool, right?

Well, I wrapped it it 2 rolls of large bubble wrap and shipping foam, followed by shrink wrap. Built a wooden crate and then covered that in cardboard. In addition to that, I put a large 8x11 sign that said FRAGILE in red! I got a call from him today saying that it was damaged upon arrival and he’s trying to salvage it. I had a bad feeling about this from the start. UPS lost a $3500 shipment of mine about a year ago and didn’t cover it. They are about as useless as it comes. Pretty depressing. Anyways, he’s a great guy, always helping out Veterans. Go follow his pages.

If you remember, Gavin wrecked his first car into a power pole last winter and totaled it. We saved part of his bumper so we can do this. He wanted to make it into wall art since he’s into cars. Maple plywood cut out with our CNC, stained in American Walnut with blue epoxy resin filled letters. What do you think?

I love doing these for the Clovis East High School Air Force JROTC seniors each year. One for each senior who did all 4 years in JROTC. My son Gavin and his friend Elijah in the last picture. Elijah is graduating this year and going to school to become an airline pilot. Great group of young adults! I think they turned out pretty cool.
