Runners up at Byron red star tournament well done boys proud of you all

Tournament today at Byron red star
Byron 1 v 1 Upr the boys started of abit slow and went a goal down seemed to spur them on and after some hard work Purdie banged one in, boys carried on attack after attack but couldn't find the back of the net.
Tigers stripes 2 v 1 Upr
The boys played quite well went 1-0 down but battled back to make it 1-1 Nathan scoring the goal and a mistake at the back and tigers got another goal, we played well but didn't take how chances.
Harold wood cougars 0-0 Upr great game against how friends the Cougars end to end play both had chances fair result in the end.
Belmont 0 v 1 Upr
Need to win this one to make sure we get to the semi finals both teams playing some nice football Belmont were physical side and strong in the tackle, Blake broke down the left wing and crossed a lovely ball and Josh was there to slot home. So into the semis we go cougars v Byron and tigers v Upr . Cougars win 2-0 against Byron
Tigers 0 v 2 Upr
After losing 2-1 to tigers earlier the boys were up for it big time some lovely football being played all helping each over out goals come from Freddie and Scott a deserved win.

Cougars 2 v 0 Upr another great game end to end play both teams playing really well went 1-0 down to a good goal, Scott leader gets put thru and is taken Down in the area pen, Oliver steps up and smashes it keeper gets a hand to it and it hits the bar good save, both teams still going for it cougars get another so 2-0 down.we still keep going and the pressure counts as one of the cougars Catches the ball another pen Scott steps up again the keeper pulls of another good save keeper as saved 2 pens hero for hes team. Really happy with the boys done really well today to get to the final and we look like a good 7 aside team so looking forward to the start of the season.

What a lovely day, boys started slow again, took a while to get going, shame we didn't manage to beat LEIGH ROCKETS LIONS who won all their games finishing top of the group, good side and well deserved the win, with our boys finishing runners up ...

Purds has a dig from way out falls lovely to Freddie who smashes it in.
( Again another fine showing, why couldnt we have started like this, quality football ).

Purds quality ball to Nath hits first time goal.
Josh sets up Nath doesnt get hold of it properly but bounces over diving goalie.
Scotty picks up loose ball and smashes it in.
For me this wraps things up, Purds with a inch perfect ball switches play to the left for Nath who holds up play for support and delivers a lovely ball to far post for Scotty running in to stear home ... quality bit of play .
( Boys finished on a high, they got it together at the end, better late than nether ).
Won the afternoon Group B, winning the 4 games, without conceeding.

Boy's again showed great character today, and played well in a very equal and well run tournament, boy's lost their last match 1-0 against Chigwell boy jets ... finishing runners up ...
Proud of the boy's and football played this weekend, great effort shown.

U.P.R V COUGARS.

Hard match, end to end game, they always a give us a good game.
Cougars open their account picking up on a defensive mistake. But the lads dug deep and battled to find the equaliser before the claxton . JOSH played a through ball to run onto beating goalie to it goes around him then beats a defender to slot it home ... final score 1-1 .draw . ( JOSH )

Another team that always cause us trouble, and they have come on loads, again it's end to end play with both teams making chances but unable to make a break through ... final score 0-0 . draw .

We start a bit scrappy but soon settle and begin getting more of the ball which pays off, we win a penalty PURDS steps up hits the wood-work NATH cleans up, we manage to hold onto the lead ... final score 1-0 win (NATH).

Heard of the team but we havent come up against them yet.
Boys seem to be doing better, and like yesterday i've seen a small improvement on our corners, balls being put in alot better and organising themselves.
WOW weve got something from a corner, lol. ALEX puts ball in FRED nods it home, NATH then wraps things up by battling to get the second ... final score 2-0 .win , (FRED/NATH).

U.P.R V CHIGWELL BOY'S JETS.

Lads are working hard but not the best ive seen them play, some tired legs out there, yesterdays tournament beginning to show.
But Chigwell all credit look totally a different team, 7 aside might be their fit. With a great piece of individual class Jets LM picks up the ball in his defensive area steams down the wing cuts inside through on goal slots it home, quality bit of play ... thats seeled it Chigwell win the tournament by 1 point ... final score 1-0 loss ...

WELL DONE BOY'S, been a lot of footy this weekend, we finished runners up today, but proud you all for the effort shown ...

Man of the tournament goes to MAC.
