Coles County Arts Council presents a soup dinner that crowdfunds microgrants for arts and community initiatives in Coles County.
Attendees pay $10 (cash only) at the door for a bowl of homemade soup, an artwork donated by one of the Tarble's exhibiting artists, and a ballot to vote on 5-minute proposals given by those seeking funds for initiatives that support art, creativity, and community. Votes are tallied and one winner takes the proceeds of each event to fund their creative ideas.
Five projects will compete for the SOUPRIZE on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Each project presenter will have 5 minutes to pitch to the soup-slurping crowd. All those who purchased a ticket at the door will vote on their favorite project, ballots will be counted, and the winner takes the pot.

Naomi read her book, “My Name is Yellow Kitty and This is My Story,” and also discussed her career in music. It was a very interesting presentation.
The second photo shows Naomi with her granddaughter, Sarah, who is the “mommy” of Yellow Kitty.
“My Name is Yellow Kitty and This is My Story” is available on Amazon at https://a.co/d/e4dBFRe
