I originally posted this in the Fall of 2020. Just had a lightning strike close by. Now it’s a SPRING PSA.
Fall PSA: Uplug your sewing machine when not in use. This time of year squirrels and other varmints are drawn to electrical boxes for their warmth. They chew on the electrical cables. They cause electrical shorts and outages. Then there are the lightning storms that come up suddenly. NONE of this is good for your sewing machines. Take a second and unplug your machines when you are done sewing for the day, all year round. Many of our machines contain costly computerized displays. Keep your beloved sewing buddy safe!
