At this stage, pieces are called bone dry or greenware. In their first firing, in the bisque kiln, pieces can be stacked because they're not glazed yet and won't stick to each other or the shelves.

More than 15 pieces are making their way through the bisque kilns at the moment. They will come out pale in color and porous, ready to soak up glaze and go to the final fire.

Someone in my community studio made sure to tell me I was using the wrong tools and tape for this job but ummm... Imma just do what feels right, lady. Like, call the pottery police.

I love sending everything I can to the kilns when I travel so that when I return it feels like Christmas morning. Almost 20 new pieces should be ready for the July website drop! 🤩✨
