Portraits on a Saturday afternoon…
I was able to spend a little time on this painting today!
Being self taught, I may not do things in the “right” order or follow someone’s guidelines, but it’s also freeing, rewarding and a huge learning experience…
If I screw up it’s on me and I analyze why it didn’t work and I grow from it.
White paint pen scribblings…

I recently was asked by Marc to work on a concept with hot rods and spaceships! It’s not what I normally do, but man it was fun!
There are 2 cars that were built by my son Ed III (some of you might recognize the ‘29 Dodge on the left) with evil customs and vans grabbing cool hot rods. Spaceships 🚀 doing I don’t know what to those poor hot rods! And please don’t forget the awesome artwork inside the magazine!

I finished this Porsche painting in January (well not really!) the inside of the front fender on the 917K Gulf Porsche really has been bugg’n me! Soooooo

Don’t forget to to watch “History Lessons” tonight on MAV TV.
It features Alex Xydias on the first show! I play a very small part! I’ve seen a preview and it’s pretty darn cool! Thanks for asking me to do some scribbling!
My friend Lewie Olsen is an amazing guy! He loves helping us hot rod artists! For example, a few years ago he bought me Pencil Socks! Pencils with my name on them! Tillrock Pencil Cookies! The list goes on and on. Now with my birthday looming, he asked another artist to do his magic on our 36 Chevy and my son Ed III’s 29 Dodge hot rod!!! I’m in awe!!! I love to see what other artists do. It’s a small hot rod artist community. His support is outstanding! Lewie’s the man! Thanks so much for these Ryan Curtis originals… I owe you big time!

Please pick up #45 ! My buddy Chip Foose did the cover artwork! In the magazine is an image of a 56 Ford Pickup drawing he did when he was 14! The artwork was inspired by Chip’s, then copy of Cartoons Magazine!!! Which inspired his new artwork on the cover and foldout. So cool!
I can’t wait to receive my copy of #45! Go get yourself one!!!
