What would you be doing?

The primary responsibility of the Wellness Director is to oversee all aspects of the Wellness Department so that residents receive excellent physical and psychosocial care in a manner that promotes dignity, choice and individuality. This position is the liaison between community partners such as doctors, home health and hospice, and evaluates new and current residents on levels of care. The Wellness Director is the supervisor for Med Techs and caregivers, and ensures care is given to our residents. This position also ensures compliance with resident charts according to HCQC and the state of Nevada. The Wellness Director reports to the community Executive Director and has additional support from the regional and national team.

What qualities & skills should you have?

You should be a licensed nurse in good standing with the state of NV, possess strong interpersonal communication skills, organized and flexible. Management, dementia and assisted living experience is preferred.

Nevada Women's Fund Scholarship Application Process Opens December 17, 2018!

Each year the Nevada Women’s Fund awards education scholarships to women in Northern Nevada. In 2018, NWF disbursed $183,000 to 73 outstanding Nevada women. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Nevada Women's Fund requirements include a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and that the applicant reside and are pursuing higher learning in Northern Nevada. NWF has several scholarships that specifically target women living in rural Nevada and single mothers.

Our annual online scholarship application process will begin on December 17, 2018, with awards taking place in summer 2019. Please share this information to anyone who might be interested!

In the morning, on October 7th, the Shining Stars of Nursing student nurse event will be held at the Redfield campus and there are several vendor tables available. All funds raised from the student nurse event support student nurses. Please contact Erin Oakland, OSNA President.

The evening event, on October 6th is a Nevada Nurses Foundation (NNF) fundraiser to raise monies for scholarships, grants, and support the NNF mission. Please join us at the Celebrity Showroom in the Nugget (Sparks, Nevada) to celebrate Nevada nurses and students who are shining and rising stars. Nevada Nurses Foundation scholarships will be awarded, over 100 nurses on boards will be recognized, and many others will be honored and recognized at this must-attend event! Get dressed up, wear your bling, and receive a red carpet greeting!
