We’re pleased to share our first cohort of managers have completed our Supervisory Programme.
The Programme is part of our Water Division Training Academy and a commitment to develop our people at all levels.
Our Supervisory Programme is an Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) accredited and industry-standard programme that is equivalent to Level 3 qualifications.
This course enhances their management leadership skills.
In our drive towards a carbon negative future, we've introduced FYLD, a digital platform which carries out in-depth risk assessments, powered by artificial intelligence ( ).
FYLD enables our operatives to capture front-line data, convert both audio and video into live risk assessments and provide supervisors the ability to mentor remotely.
Since introducing the platform, we've seen risk assessments sped up by 72%, with higher levels of accuracy, reducing travel to and from site. Saving on carbon emissions.

We’re passionate about working alongside our clients to protect the environments in which we work and our team has been working in Yorkshire, alongside archaeologists who have been uncovering ancient history.
Our team has been working with client Yorkshire Water to install a new 5.2km rising main, two 14m deep shafts, and a sewage pumping station which will serve a new prison near Full Sutton, East Riding.
Before works could commence, Ecus Archaeology uncovered three new sites that have provided an exciting glimpse into the prehistoric and early historic past of the local area. The recorded remains and material recovered will be used for essential data, helping to give an insight into life in the area thousands of years ago.

Tom Shanahan, Project Manager for the Finsbury Park project, has driven the rehabilitation work undertaken by our teams, to strengthen three main water pipes in Hackney, London for client, Thames Water.
Throughout the project, Tom has ensured that all stakeholders are kept up to date, working collaboratively to limit disruption to the public. He has also assisted the team behind DieDraw, the innovative technique being used to reline the 600mm of existing mains between Seven Sisters Road and Finsbury Park Road.

Last week, we were privileged to have one of our fantastic colleagues selected as a guest speaker at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Annual Summit.
Our Digital Networks Manager, Soruban Sarvananther, represented Morrison Water Services and our smart metering expertise in the water sector.
The business is consistently looking at ways to deliver their Water Resource Management Plans (WRMPs). Utilising meter data is key to driving down water demand.
Soruban and John Oshodi, Senior Solutions Architect at AWS, led an engaging discussion focusing on sustainable water use powered by technology.

We’re delighted be nominated for two awards at the Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) Health & Safety Awards 2024.
Taking place DCWW’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing conference on 27 June 2024, these awards recognise individuals, teams or networks who have been at the forefront of health & safety.
Our first nomination is for the ‘Health and Wellbeing Award,’ for the introduction of tracking and camera monitoring systems to all vehicles on the contract, in collaboration with our telematics partner, Samsara.

Today, Soruban Sarvananther, Digital Networks Manager, presented at Amazon Web Services (AWS)’ Annual Summit launching an industry changing piece of technology.
, a soft robotic camera that will snake into Type 2 fire hydrants, without the need for a new installation, to survey water mains. Utilising robotics is a sector first, officially being rolled out this summer on one of our contracts.

These awards celebrate innovation and achievements in . We’re delighted our Thames Water Smart Metering, Developer Services and Major Projects Contract has been nominated in two categories.
The first is for ‘Best Health & Safety Project,’ where we have been nominated for our ‘Back2Basics’ campaign, an effort to address the issue of electric strikes within the utilities sector. Our second nomination is in the ‘Best Driver Risk Management Performance’ category, working with M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions’ to introduce Samsara’s driver app and technology to our fleet vehicles.

We are proud to announce our scheme, in partnership with Yorkshire Water, has been recognised at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)Yorkshire & Humber 2024 Awards.
The Living with Water Scheme saw the creation of a permeable road to help manage surface water in a community prone to flooding and received a Certificate of Excellence award.
Lee Wood, Area Director said: “To be recognised for the work undertaken as part of the Living With Water scheme is a huge achievement. I would like to thank the team who have worked hard on the project to make a real difference to the community of Rosmead Street.”

We have successfully secured contract extensions on two Capital Delivery Frameworks.
As part of this latest agreement, we will continue to work across the Yorkshire Water region to deliver customer-focused and complex infrastructure projects until April 2028.
