Thank you to everyone for a terrific end of the year. Our fifth grade activities were amazing!!! Good luck to all our fifth graders! Watch out middle school 🙂!

A few people have asked for a description of the board positions. Below are the descriptions that can be found on the Florida PTA website. Over the last few years the PTA board has really run as one, each person works collectively with the rest of the board - not individually. Although there are some duties that are specific to each position, please know that ALL positions are there for the good of the school and the children. Regardless of title. Being part of the Everglades PTA board is one of the most rewarding things you can do - please consider helping your children and your school! If you have any questions, feel free to call Sandi at 954.288.5203.

President: The president shall preside at all meetings of the association, the executive committee and the executive board at which the president may be present; shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed in these bylaws or assigned by the association or by the executive board; may appoint a parliamentarian and historian, with the approval of the executive board; and shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the association in order that the Purposes may be promoted.

The vice-president(s) shall act as aide(s) to the president and shall (in their designated order) perform the duties of the president in the absence or disability of that officer to act.
a. the 1st vice-president shall serve as VP of Fundraising​ (all fundraising activities)
b. the 2nd vice-president shall serve as Volunteers​ (organizing and finding volunteers for programs throughout the year)
c. the 3rd vice-president shall serve as Membership and Programming (increasing membership and planning welcome back activities and teacher appreciation week activities)

Secretary: The recording secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the association and of the executive committee and board and shall perform such other duties as may be delegated. Section 4. The corresponding secretary shall prepare all written communications as directed by the association or by the executive board and shall perform such other duties as may be delegated. ​

Treasurer: The treasurer shall have custody of all of the funds of the association; shall keep a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures; and shall make disbursements in accordance with the approved budget, as authorized by the association. Three signatures should be on file at the bank, with two signatures required on all PTA checks. The treasurer shall present a financial statement at every meeting of the association and at other times when requested by the executive board and shall make a full report at the annual meeting. The treasurer shall be responsible for the maintenance of such books of account and records as conform to the requirements of Article XIII, Section 3, of the bylaws.

Hi everyone! We are going to have a 5th grade picnic meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 7:30 am. We have to be out of the library by 8 am sharp so please try and get there as early as you can- don't forget about the carpool line and signing in at the front office.
