I grew up with the knowledge that my grandmother ran a small, local store in our community in the early 1900's. She sold food, supplies, and odds and ends. Her store was long gone by the time I came along but I always thought it was really special that she provided a service to the community like she did. My grandmother was an inspiration to me because of her kindness, dedication, and most importa
I need names. I'm planning on overalls for this new guy.
The mouse from yesterday is a girl and she's quite a country mouse. The Hobby Lobby judgemental crow that I borrowed the hat from is giving me the side eye.
Oh, my goodness... I'm still over here making mice. This one is not sleepy- it just needs some clothes! We'll see what happens tomorrow.
So making needle felted critters has my shoulder worn out but not before I finished two special gifts for the boys at my house. I wonder if one will notice that I ran out of black wool so Mr. Snake isn't exactly all black and red? Turtleman looks concerned about Mr. Snake's close proximity, don't you think?
3rd time was the charm! Now there's two rats and a mouse. All very sleepy....🐭
Him so sleepy. ❤️ This was my first time carding 3 colors for a mixed fur. I can't seem to make a tiny version of these. They keep turning out to be rat looking. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm.
Oh, my goodness, this is addicting and therapeutic. Baby mouse has wittle bitty toes and Mrs. Hen, well, I don't know what to say about Mrs. Hen. Thyroid condition maybe?
Yesterday's latest Itty Bitty Baaaby.
Personalized aprons were on the press this morning! I hope these ladies will get years of enjoyment out of them. (They are a gift so keep this on the down low.) 😉
Next week is Holiday Spirit Week at school. Monday is dress like a snowman day and Friday is Grinch day. I saw a picture of something similar to these and duplicated them. I wish I had time to sew up a top hat!
Y'all, I can't stop buying yarn because I can't stay off of Pinterest and getting ideas of things to try! I saw a picture of something similar to this scarf and I recreated it with my knitting machine this past week during the wee hours of the night. Today, I stitched some of the eyes, mouths, and made the embellishments. Next up is a kids Santa scarf....or rudolph....or a snowman.... 😆😁🤷♀️
Our church ministers to our dear friends at a local nursing home once a month. The kids in our church will be handing these out to the residents on our next trip! I saw a picture floating around Pinterest but it didn't have any link to the instructions so I recreated this simple and primitive nativity set (Out of Jenga blocks! 😮) Some of the kids helped sand the blocks, organize the parts, and will be putting together the packaging for these. I just love this simple reminder of what Christmas is all about.
Things are getting out of hand over here.... The boys asked for big chickens. Next up are donuts with sprinkles.
I just love the little knitting machine that I added to my collection. I've made so many stuffed critters that I've lost count over the past few weeks! These chickens had me stumped because I can't crochet. I made some kind of knotted mess stitch to finish the combs, (much to my amazement!). I think they ended up pretty cute when all was done and over with.
When one kiddo wanted a turtle and one kiddo wanted a spider I found these patterns and got to work. Bucky the spider has really chonkey legs. 😁
Operation Christmas Child is in full swing! I wanted to make a handmade doll for my box this year. What would I do without the knowledge and expertise of those on YouTube?
I should be working on angels but some little people needed a stuffed green alien in the meantime.
Stop by 1749 Locust Hill Road in Greer, SC tomorrow (Saturday, October 14th) and say hello! The pop up craft show starts at 10am (Impressions Salon). These characters in the photo will want to introduce you to the rest of the gang.
I've not been social media very often but I'm still in the background crafting. This is my newest project that I'm just amazed about. This sitting angel took me two days to finish. I'm hoping to get one more completed before the weekend. The 2nd one should be easier now that I figured out the pattern.
Yes, I bought yarn the week that it's NOT on sale. Yes, I needed to be cleaning my house. Yes, I spent part of my Saturday making a pencil scarf. Yes, it was fun. That is all. 😁
Lately, I've been on a learning kick. I've been trying out a lot of new things in preparation for reopening the shop. Tonight, I sat down and made this knitted sushi scarf. It was fun! Maybe this one will make it to the shop. What do you think?
I've been playing with yarn lately. I might have a problem. So far, I've made almost 20 hats since Christmas. 😆 Tonight, I finished my first scarf on the knitting machine so it would match the hat I made this morning. I think I'll try a cowl next. 😁
Bernice wanted me to show you guys this shirt (I made for myself), using a new bleaching technique. What do you guys think? Would anyone be interested in shirts with "cowhide" bleaching?
