Arches has some important news! After reviewing comments from members of the public, stakeholders, and elected officials, the NPS determined that a temporary, pilot timed entry reservation system could help Arches proactively pace visitation into the park.
From April 3 through October 3, 2022, Arches National Park will implement a pilot timed entry system. Visitors can book reservations first-come, first-served on Recreation.gov beginning at 8 am MST on January 3, 2022. The park will release tickets three months in advance in monthly blocks. For those without an early reservation, a limited number of tickets will be available at 6 pm the day before entry. Tickets will be required from 6 am to 5 pm daily.
We expect timed entry to provide more reliable park access and improve visitor experiences—all while protecting Arches’ extraordinary landscape.
Timed entry is only one out of a variety of possible congestion management solutions. Data collected over the duration of the pilot will inform timed entry’s viability as a component of a longer-term visitor access strategy.
