From Healing Herself to Healing Others
CBD Fountain was founded by a massage therapist who has always been interested in natural healing. She was fed vitamins and fresh vegetable juice when she was a kid. She was not allowed those sugary cereals all her friends got. She learned very early that what you put into your body matters.
“When I was 16, I got a back injury from cheerleading. It was just a deep muscle pull but I was an athlete, played soccer and lacrosse, danced ballet and so I shook it off. But month after month, may back got worse. The knot that had developed was traveling and creating tightness up and down my back leading to sciatica. I went to the doctor. He told me to take Advil. I went to the chiropractor. He aligned my spine. But it was a soft tissue injury and that meant I needed body work. But no one had suggested it. It wasn't until six months later, out of desperation, when I was walking like an old lady and was laid in bed with pain did I try acupuncture. That doctor had a massage therapist and those two modalities together healed me in a month. From that point on, my life changed. I no longer believed that doctors had all the answers and knew that it was a lot better to take care of your own “meat suit” and stay healthy than to have to wind up in a doctors office.
After college, while pursuing my first love of acting, I realized that I wanted to help heal people with my hands. I don't believe everything happens for a reason, but when I met a friend who had just enrolled in massage school at the same time I got let go from a mediocre bartending job, I followed her lead and never looked back. I had a private massage therapy practice in Los Angeles for over a decade.
About four years ago, I tried a h**p topical that smelled bad, was sticky and didn’t really relieve my pain. So I decided to make my own, creating an organic body lotion that smelled yummy and put some h**p CBD into it. When I rubbed it on, it relieved my pain. I thought it was in my head so I gave it to other people with pain. They all felt relief too and a business was born. From then on out, I became passionate about helping people feel better AND educating them about how and why CBD helps. We not only sell high quality, plant based products but are earth friendly, always looking to do our part to reduce our carbon footprint.”
