So it's the first week back for a new school year. This can bring about a lot of emotions for students - from excitement to anxiety. Essential oils are a great way to support them during this transition. Back to school blends are now available in roller bottles ($10 ) or personal inhalers($5) that can fit neatly and discreetly in backpacks. Blends for anxiety, sleeplessness, self esteem and immune boosting, focus and concentration, etc. Message me if you are in need of some. Here's to a great school year!
Wow, it's been a minute since I last posted! Funny how time just seems to slip away from you. In the past month I have enjoyed some camping and cottaging adventures, family time and some good old fashioned rest from the busyness of life. Now is the time to get back into the swing of things (even though I'm still in vacation mode). Time to get in my gardens to w**d, prune and harvest. Today will be spent picking herbs to dry, infuse and tincture and picking my edibles (veggies and flowers) to enjoy in lunchtime salads. I hope you are enjoying your summer and that you are able to find time to rest and rejuvenate.
Something new added to my $7/mth tier on Patreon. Not only do you have access to all the recipes and essential oil profiles I have added since January of this year (47 exclusive posts to be exact), you can receive a guide to creating your own Herbal First Aid Kit! Each week for the month of June I am adding a themed group of recipes that you can make as part of your own first aid kit. Already posted is "All Things Buggy" and this week will be "All Things Itchy". We will be looking at infused oils, salves and essential oil blends to help with these issues. Dandelions get a bad rap. Most people see them as pesky w**ds that need to be destroyed. But did you know that the entire plant is edible and that they are packed with vitamins, minerals, potassium and calcium? Dandelions are considered to be a spring tonic for the body with an affinity for the liver. They even have anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve achy joints and muscles. Head over to www.questaromatherapy.com/blog to learn all about dandelions and their benefits. Even learn how to take dried dandelion flowers and turn them into an infused carrier oil to make a healing salve. Hopefully after reading those posts, you will see these w**ds in a new light.

So it's the first day of "Spring Break" and the kids are home. Unfortunately I am not on break, I have lots to do, writing, posting, picture taking, medicine making, studying, the list goes on and on. But despite all that, the kids and I have decided to set aside time each day to do something creative. Today is watercolor day! I have always loved the soft muted tones of watercolor paintings. I'm going to try to incorporate my love of watercolors with my love of herbs in some simple pieces, wish me luck! Do you have any Spring Break plans?

My Story...
I started my journey with essential oils over twenty years ago when I was introduced to them through a local Aromatherapist. I had always been interested in alternative forms of health care and was excited to learn more. She took me under her wing, and lead me through my first accredited course. I was hooked! Every week, on a Thursday morning, I would go to her studio and she would teach me all about the oils and their complexity, the history of the oils, their profiles, and much, much more. I completed my course, but did not write my exams. I was young and apprehensive about starting a business, so I went back to school in a different field.
Life has a way of happening and in a blink of an eye, I found myself married to an amazing man and having two beautiful children. Along the way, I used my oils for my family and friends. Creating custom blends for major and minor health concerns. Using essential oils wasn’t a phase I had grown out of, it was a part of me. So I registered for another accredited course and did my studies around my hectic life of working and motherhood.
I completed my goal and received the designation of Certified Aromatherapy Health Professional(CAHP) and am currently a member with the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA).
Becoming a member of the CFA means that I have to uphold their professional standards and ethics as well as continually add to my education. I am looking forward to completing more courses in other modalities so I can eventually add them to my practice.
