We were a family run and totally independent cabaret venue on Mount Ephraim in Tunbridge Wells which was open from September 2013 to March 2018. Needing to accommodate larger audiences we closed the original venue and now create wonderful cabaret evenings with top flight artists in unique and special venues in the East Sussex and Kent countryside. Such a pretty evening and never happier than by the water. Stopped on a bench and caught a little .holland.official and on Instagram just to complete a perfect evening stroll.
Just scraped in Friday evening due to a last minute cancellation and totally enjoyed a fabulous meal together with a wonderful atmosphere and a couple of lovely glasses of white. Thoroughly recommend these Friday evenings here at The Artful Grocers in Wadhurst. A must visit on a Friday evening but be sure to book first The Artful Grocers, Wadhurst.

Our Story
We promote and stage evenings of cabaret, jazz, boogie woogie, blues, swing and soul in Kent and East Sussex and have been since September 2013. We offer unique, quirky and atmospheric settings in which to sit and relax with a lovely glass of fine wine, wonderful spirits and great food whilst enjoying an evening of the best in entertainment. A truly immersive experience that will have you returning again.
We aim to be different from average venues and one of the best ways we do that is our decor.
You can enjoy a beautiful glass of wine some friends on a relaxing evening out, or with that special someone in a place where you can relax, enjoy a quiet conversation whilst enjoying the best in entertainment and dancing if part of the evening.
There are many interesting stories behind the Scallywag name and business evolution over 50 years, but for those and to experience this completely unique way of going out for an evening of unforgettable music and memories, you will just have to pop in for yourselves!
