With my childhood friend and an artist based in Berlin in her beautiful atelier in Prenzlauerberg.

Once a critical border crossing between East and West Berlin during the Cold War, this historic site has seen tales of escape, espionage, and resilience.

Established in 1961, Checkpoint Charlie was the most famous crossing point between the communist East Berlin and the democratic West Berlin. Its iconic guardhouse and sign, “You are leaving the American sector,” became emblematic of the ideological clash between East and West. Today, visitors can walk the same streets where Cold War tensions reached their peak. The site features a replica of the original guardhouse and informative displays that transport you back to a time when the Berlin Wall loomed large.

🕵️‍♀️ Tales of Daring Escapes: The stories of those who risked everything to cross from East to West are both heartbreaking and inspiring. From secret tunnels to daring car modifications, the ingenuity and bravery of these individuals highlight the human desire for freedom.

In One of the most daring escapes involved an East German family who built a hot air balloon from scraps of fabric. Under the cover of night, they flew over the Berlin Wall in 1979, landing safely in West Germany.

📸 The museum nearby offers a deeper dive into the Cold War era, with artifacts and personal stories that bring history to life.

The International Stockholm Film Festival is over. It’s been a pleasure to cover this event for , watch incredibly good movies and meet talented people. Thank you for making it extra special 😎

Some of you keep asking about the films - what’s good what’s not. So this is my very subjective rating so far. It’s impossible to watch all of the 130 films being presented during the Stockholm Film Festival, but there’s a few I want to recommend:

1. Call Jane - about illegal abortions in the 60’s in US. Definitely my favourite.

2. Living - British interpretation of the Kurosawa classic “Ikiru”. Moving and sentimental with a dash of witty humour.

3. The Son - follow up of The Father, a study of a depressed teenager. Not entertaining at all, but very engaging and interesting.

Everything is about perspective- for me working on commercials is almost relaxing this days. After producing and coordinating live tv shows and working in tv news, nothing ever was time demanding. Pictures from The Amazing Race 2018.

“During WWII, 13 diplomats risked their careers and sometimes their lives to save tens of thousands of Jews... people they often didn't even know. Fake passports were made and trains were stopped even as some of them were headed to the gas chambers. As if taken from a scene in Proust's "Remembrance of Things Past," pieces of chocolate were given to many of the survivors, who were young children at the time. To this day, chocolate tastes like freedom to them. Later, these diplomats were deemed (sometimes posthumously) the righteous among the nations, a title given from Yad Vashem where our host, Irena was a head researcher.
Shooting in 7 countries (counting Belgium) over the course of 3 months, we only began to tell this story. Interviewing many survivors and the children of the diplomats who saved them; we often reunited them, although some met for the first time…This movie is the reason we become filmmakers”

With roots in pagan times, Midsummer is a celebration of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, but it is also a celebration of and . People traditionally pick flowers and create their own floral crowns which they wear throughout the day. Swedish Midsummer involves picking flowers, dreaming about your future love, wearing flower wreaths and dancing like a frog around a pole.

Portugal's star decision to move Coca-Cola bottles to the side during his pre- press conference has certainly caused a stir. report that Ronaldo's actions coincided with a $4 billion decrease in Coca-Cola's market value, dropping from $242bn to $238bn in the aftermath of the press conference. Share prices also slumped from $56.10 to $55.22 in tandem. I was waiting for the fizzy drink giant to respond, as they are one of the sponsors. And the response was just brilliant, looking at this from the PR perspective. It’s blunt enough to put out the fire. No one can argue with this statement that “everyone is entitled to their drink preferences," and that each individual has different "tastes and needs". But personally l hope it will affect the market. Greetings from Stockholm, where the tap water is so tasty and better then the bottled one!

Have you ever seen the movie ‘Insomnia’ with Al Pacino? Based on a Norwegian film with the same name, he plays a cop from LA who goes to Alaska to solve a crime. As time goes on, he suffers more and more from insomnia due to the day-round light and starts to lose his grip on reality. This time of year, I start to understand the movie 🎥

During my work on live tv shows there’s always room left for unexpected situations. The (or , as they are officially known) are the ceremonial guardians of the London. The red uniform is saved for special occasions, such as a visit from the sovereign to the Tower or if they are on duty for state occasions. This man is NOT a beefeater, he’s an actor, but was wearing this costume with an honour. He looked too real, so we got attention from the officials.
