Saturday mornings at are for getting In The Zone at our Queenax unit. This is true group personal training- maxing out at six participants each class to help you do your very best on a customized level.
If you like a group class, but sometimes feel lost in the crowd, this is for you!
In The Zone was developed by yours truly and soon other personal trainers will be leading this format at our Y. I hope that you'll give it a try!

I often tell people.... The gym is a playground. The gym is a fun place. The gym is where you want to be.
Creating a healthy relationship with the gym and exercise has been such a journey in my life. I was the kid who would do what they could to avoid PE class growing up. I didn't like running. I didn't like basketball. I didn't like dodgeball. Those weren't for me.
But fast forward a few years and I've found the things I enjoy- Zumba, CIRCL Mobility, Muobility, kickboxing, lifting, etc.
The things I enjoy might not be the things you enjoy- and that's okay! That's why my goal is to help everyone I encounter find their fit & what makes them excited to be active in the bodies they have today.
Personal training has been a true game-changer for how I interact on a fitness level with people. I truly enjoy helping others feel their best and the one-on-one interactions really help improve my own life beyond fitness as a director outside of the gym. I am so excited to be here today sharing knowledge and motivation with others. I especially love getting messages from clients letting me know how life changing or even just day brightening our interactions have been. It's so cool!

Being in the fitness realm for 10+ years, I've had many opportunities to watch people grow into their best selves. Much like a garden, a gym is a space where people come together and thrive. We drink water, feel those rays of sunshine in our hearts, and stretch tall.
Also like a garden, when we don't do some of these things- like properly fueling ourselves or allowing the negative thoughts to eat us away like hungry caterpillars- our garden can feel pretty crummy.
You're not a plant, yes- but you are made to grow tall and stand bright in this world. Maybe you're a daisy- giving it your all and popping back up each time... or maybe you're a prized rose, doing everything you need to feel your best self every day.
I've seen many people thrive and grow- from group fitness to personal training and beyond. Seeing you experience joy in movement brings me joy- like a gardener admiring their garden. ๐ป
This is your friendly reminder to hydrate even when you're in the pool! Don't forget to bring your water to the water!

Fitness is all about balance. Cardio, strength, flexibility.... but recovery is a key component that is often overlooked. Myofascial release, lengthing through stretching, and strengthening along the way can help improve your game in the day & contribute to a good night's sleep.
In this class, we focus on this recovery and connection to our bodies, breath, and giving our fascia the love and recognition it deserves.

We focus on balance, flexibility, and stretching to help your body recover and feel its best!
We have a full hour class available weekly and special for this week at Fabletics Barton Creek Mall.
At Fabletics, we will be doing a Zumba class with an extended 12 minute cooldown using the CIRCL format. After our full hour session, the store will be open for an exclusive shopping event from 11a-12p before the store opens.

I came across this image a few days ago when building out a new (coming soon!) small group workout class for the Queenax unit at - I've yet to see anyone try the move on the left, haha!
The Queenax is a really cool system. I remember when it was first installed. We had classes around the unit and it was awesome to kick off becoming familiar with the unit itself. Our unit gets a lot of use throughout the day, but sometimes goes under-utilized.
From this trapeze on the right to TRX to monkey bars to the punching bag, we are looking to breathe some new life into it and I can't wait to share more in the coming weeks about it when it's time to get in the zone. ๐

Many gyms have their bottle count on their refill stations. It's cool to see over 322,000 refills at - folks here know that water is super important in any fitness journey!

I've got some important Zumba schedule updates for y'all!
First, Tuesday 7:15p Zumba at North Austin YMCA with me will be ending at the end of this month. It is with a heavy heart that I announce this- but this will allow me to focus on offerings closer to home. That being said, we are working on keeping Zumba at North Austin with another instructor - so stay tuned! We'll still be meeting on Feb 20th & 27th- so it isn't too late to party!
Second, Friday Zumba at Crunch Fitness South Austin is now from 5:15-6:15p as of Feb 23rd, to allow you to get your fit on while having an open evening ahead. We're excited for this update and hope it will be a part of your weekend kick-off!
Lastly, at Southwest Family YMCA, Aqua Zumba (7p on Mon, Wed, Thu) & CIRCL Mobility (5:45p on Thu) will remain unchanged.
