Decided to challenge myself a little today with Total Body Hammer, a workout full of supersets. The blue dumbbell is 5 lbs, the orange one is 8. I did the first two parts of each set with the blue, then switched to orange for the last one. Not as impressive as Sagi's 70 lb dumbbells 😳 but making progress and getting stronger every day! 💪🏻

Today is my rest day from Hammer and Chisel, but I wanted to make sure I kept up my momentum in working out so I went to my go-to 30-ish minute workout. Not quite as fun if you can't fully kick the crap out of stuff, but still got it done!

Iso Strength Chisel is in the books! A combination of lifting and holding made for a good muscle workout. Still doing the modifications for my injury, so you can see the difference here. I used a step vs the bench and didn't squat down in between, to protect my knee from too much bending. Still got a good workout in, and looking forward to seeing progress over the next few weeks! 💪🏻

Day 1 of Master's Hammer and Chisel is in the books - except I did the Day 2 workout by accident! Sheesh.

So I'll just switch up and do Day 1 tomorrow.

What are you giving up for Lent?

That's a question we hear a lot this time of year. Most of us give up different foods - sweets, soda, alcohol... some take a 40 day break from Social media.

I've done a lot of "giving up for Lent" in my life, and a few years ago I thought how great it would be to make a commitment to do something, rather than give something up. Most times when we give something up for Lent, we go right back to it when Lent is over. But when we do something for 21 days, it becomes a habit - so imagine how doing it for 40 days will stick!

I'm making a commitment to do The Master's Hammer and Chisel, since it's weight based and I'm a little injured right now and need to modify any cardio. But since I also want to get some definition, it's a win-win!

Bring it Autumn and Sagi - Benchie and I are ready for you! 💪🏻

Some people meal prep their food, I meal prep our Shakeology! Each cup has one scoop of Shakeo,one tsp. of cocoa powder, one Tbsp. of PB2 powder, one scoop of Shakeology Digestive and one scoop of whey protein. Mix with one cup of ice,one cup of water and half a frozen banana, and we've got healthy chocolate shakes!

Finally made it to day 4 of Fire and Flow - stupid Covid took me out after only 3 days the first time around. It was fun getting to test my balance with this move. Tomorrow is more Fire! 🔥

I wasn't feeling too hot yesterday, so I decided to sleep in this morning and move today's workout to tomorrow. Having a quiet evening tonight catching up on my Holiday Baking Championship episodes and looking through catalogs to get ideas for gifts.

Do you still get catalogs in the mail, and if so do you order from them?

Sometimes in the hustle of everyday life, we forget that taking care of ourselves is Job 1. Doing another round of this program - the best part is that the workouts are only 20 minutes each. Hope everyone has a great day!

One of the best ways to know how successful you are in your goals is to have a starting point, and hen to track along the way. A fun way to check your progress is to have a specific piece of clothing that you want to be able to wear, then take pictures of yourself in it as you go, so you can see the change in fit over time.

Happy New Year everyone! 🎊🎉 Today is Day 1 of Month 1, and I just finished Week 1 of Job 1! I'm really enjoying it so far, each workout is only about 20 minutes, so it's fit well into my morning routine.

I also had a small win at the grocery store today - I really enjoy brown rice with egg whites, and haven't been able to find the short-grain for ages. I found some today in the natural foods section (not sure why I didn't check there before 🤦🏼‍♀️), so I'm prepping up a batch to use for the coming week.

The last couple of months have been a whirlwind in our family - and sometimes in all of the excitement and hustle & bustle, I forgot to take care of myself. I wouldn't trade any of the great events we've had recently, but I am trading in the self-neglect trap that I fell into on several days.

This month I'm making the commitment to myself to get back doing things that will benefit me mentally as well as physically, including reading, meditation, and yoga. I need to have a little peace after all of the excitement. 😊

Yesterday I tried the sample workout of Shaun T's new dance program Let's Get Up - it was a lot of fun, and was actually mentally relaxing, despite my 2 left hands coming in from time to time. 😅
