This Friday is the release of Music Is Art’s latest collaborative project: “Good Neighbors (Vol. 3).” This time around the concept was to write for our peers (chosen at random). I was fortunate to be paired up with two incredibly talented friends in .weissman and .
The song I wrote for Ethan is called ‘Down To The Wire’ and the song Mike wrote for me is called ‘Digital Addiction.’

A little behind-the-scenes action as I get ready for another studio session
Album/Life Update:
We did a lot of work on the album this spring and early summer and the songs are all in a really exctiting state.
Took the last month or two off - July & August were full of travel and lots of other creative projects: I was directing children’s theater, my hometown community chorus; I went to the national Rocky Horror Convention in NJ; and Jamie & I spent a week tent camping in the Adirondacks. The last few weeks have been full of prepping for my 9th year teaching high school vocal/general music.
Had another session with Glenn tonight at GB Audio; mostly a note-taking and planning session. Drums, bass, and most of the guitars are final. Next up is a round of lead & additional guitars; we have so many ideas - many of our conversations at this point are about how to fill space that needs something extra, or how to add nuance and texture. We’ve put thought into every single second of this record, but we ultimately just want it to sound like a band having fun playing together. Every session & conversation with Glenn is inspiring.
In addition to those final guitar parts, we also have to get to work on all of the vocals. I’ll most likely be doing another round of scratch vocals at home over the next week or two, to really push myself and try a lot of different approaches vocally. At the end of the day, I want to be able to give my best possible performances to these songs once we turn that red light on.
I’m going to try to keep y’all updated a bit more as we get closer to the finish line. Album title and track list will be announced eventually, but for now, there’s still a lot of work to do. I can’t wait to share it all with you. Thanks for the support along the way 🧡

I gotta say a special shout-out to The Glam Vamps too; their creativity and passion for the art of burlesque is truly inspiring and I cannot say enough good things about them as artists, collaborators, and people. Going to see one of their shows is honestly one of the most entertaining ways I can think of spending a night out in Buffalo.
I love the music of The Cure and it’s been a blast getting to know these songs so intimately; and to do it alongside some seriously talented friends has brought me a whole lot of joy. Got to spend the afternoon at GCR audio recording a song Mike Chmiel wrote for me (Digital Addiction) and a song I wrote for Ethan Weissman (Down To The Wire). Both songs were written for the Good Neighbors Vol. 3 project through Music Is Art.
Huge thank you to and for playing drums on the songs; two super talented dudes & it was a blast working with them. And another special thanks to Marc Hunt for engineering the tracks today & making everything sound awesome 👏
There’s still much more work to do on these songs before they’re finished, but today was a great step forward for this project and I can’t wait to see where it all goes from here!
Happy anniversary to the day we filmed the music video for ‘She Doesn’t Like My Face’! Thanks to all these wonderful friends for being a part of it! ❤️
