Full circle business here with our longtime and hometown brother, Ronnie Scouten, whose Autodidact Beer crafts the tastiest of brews. We’re stoked to collaborate with him on this “False Evidence Appearing Real” IPA, which will be available for a limited time at the Autodidact taproom and at the sold out Crossroads shows this weekend with Paulson, as well as at Culver Liquor and Bar in Branchville. At 6.4% this is brewed with strata, simcoe, and citra hops, with a hint of cannabis. Gary Busey would agree that it essentially tastes like the old Folly van used to smell: juicy and dank.

To kick off this weekend which celebrates the vinyl release of Resist Convenience via Bad Time Records, “FEAR” will be tapped for the first time tomorrow, Thursday, 7 PM, at Autodidact Brewery in Morris Plains, for a wild NJ Scene Trivia Night hosted by Folly’s own Jon Tummillo. Come hang and see if your memories of turn-of-the-century NJ scene lore are as foggy as ours?

Very special prizes for trivia winners include a signed Resist Convenience 2006 album release show silkscreened poster, Resist Convenience vinyl (Bad Time Records, 2024), Resist Convenience CD (Triple Crown Records, 2006, in unopened/original packaging), 2003 Demo tape cassette (RTF Records, 2023), “A Band About Nothing” Seinfeld zip up hoodie, as well as some stellar Autodidact glassware and merch.

We’re beyond excited for these two nights of celebration for the Resist Convenience LP release at Crossroads. In addition to all the bands supporting us in our jubilee, our old pals Paulson are reuniting for the first time in over a decade, which is the icing on the cake for us personally. Another great thing about is the convergence of bands of different genres from different eras. We finally had the opportunity to see .band and we’re blown away! Their records were a regular part of our daily listening on our past tours, and informed a lot of Folly’s music, believe it or not. No doubt, all five of us can air-drum or air-guitar all of “Serious Heavy Drama”. We might have punished them just a bit, but we are so thankful for the opportunity to see them after all these years. Additionally, we took the opportunity to let Dave from know how they were influential in the formation of Folly back in 1997. As the story goes, Agim, wore a Mustard Plug T-shirt on the first day of 9th grade, and he locked eyes with Geoff, who was wearing an Op Ivy t shirt. From that moment on, they knew they had to be friends, and eventually started a band together. These little full circle moments are what it’s all about, and we are so grateful.

The vibe at the High Dive to close out Sunday at 21 is wild! Gonna be one for the books! So much energy and love in this sweat box. We can’t wait to hit the stage at 9:20pm tonight for a very special all 90’s ska-punk cover set. You’ll get to see us in a slightly different light, as we celebrate and honor some of our musical heroes. We’ll be joined by a ton of friends to help us play these songs. How many horn players can we fit on a stage? Better post up and find out. This one is for the ska kids young and old, the black and white checkerboard maniacs, and as always, for our friends. Cancelled flights can’t keep your Folly boys down! No fu***ng way! Nothing will stop us from getting to ! We rallied and had to rebook flights at a different airport, just hours before takeoff, but such is the unpredictable life in show business, baybee! Early morning travel poses an existential crisis of faith: Do you believe in beer or coffee? We are a mixed bunch in that regard, aggressively consuming both! 2 enthusiastic thumbs down to for cancelling our flights, but also, thanks for the $126 worth of . Take the good with the bad. Take the burgers when offered, and keep on keepin’ on. ✌️

We are honored to have been part of MBE’s special night to reassemble and commemorate their boy Stretch. So many old friends and fam who have supported us since the BEGINNING were here.
