Presentism: There exists only the now. The past is not real anymore. The future doesn't exist yet. The present moment is constantly transformed into a different instant.

Eternalism: Time and space are directions in a larger field. They are at right angles to each other which is why they complement to c for any motion. In the field of spacetime, all instants past and future coexist.

The argument this author makes is that even though we live in a reality where the future and past coexist, we should still call all decision-making freedom of will so that we can continue saying we have it. A common compatibilist argument by redefinition, but people care about if decisions could have been otherwise and so that thought needs a name.
