Organizing for Action is a non partisan group that supports President Obama's platforms and policy initiatives. Today we are asking for your support.
* Budget and Fiscal issues,
· The Affordable Care Act, and * Fair and Clean Elections. Our volunteers, who come from all parts of Howard County, have played key roles on gun violence prevention - collecting signatures, attending rallies, and delivering over 1.4 million petitions to congress. We have joined the push for immigration reform by holding letter writing events to members of congress that need an extra push, and by holding phone banks to help support our sister states that needed to fill events in their areas. We have held information sessions on the implementation of the ACA and have identified an army of volunteers who will be helping to guide people without insurance to the state navigators in the Fall. Our climate change efforts have included visits with Congressman Sarbanes staff, information sessions, and we are gearing up for a switch to clean canvass in Howard County in the next few months. We are reaching out and expanding our volunteer base, and are demonstrating that small groups of dedicated people can make a difference and impact significant change. In addition to issue advocacy based on the national agenda, our leadership team and volunteers are supporting our own state and local initiatives. We are partnering with existing issue groups and agencies and encourage everyone to have a voice and become involved with our democratic process. National OFA is asking each state to be a partner in fundraising. Goals have been set by our state for each of the OFA chapters. All money raised in Maryland will stay in Maryland, supporting the chapter that raised the money in addition to supporting statewide needs. We in Howard County will be holding a variety of events to help raise funds to support our efforts. In addition, we are reaching out to you, our most involved neighbors to help support our grassroots efforts in Howard County. Please consider becoming a Howard County OFA
