She smiled, but it wasn’t the smile she gave him yesterday. The one that lit up her entire face. “I’m fine.” She looked out the door. “What are you doing here?”
He ran his hand over the back of his neck. What was he doing here? “I didn’t see you at the gym today.”
Now her smile was genuine as it stretched wider. “You missed me.”
“I didn’t say that,” he grumbled.
“You missed me.”
“Clearly you’re okay now.” He turned to head off the porch. “I can rest knowing you’re still your annoying self.”
