Have you heard of the term Holding Space?
I love the way that it is described by the Centre for Transformational Coaching as:

‘To simply form a companionship relationship, where you create a space in which they can attend to whatever is arising for themselves that is in need of attention without anything “needing” to happen.

We would possibly describe it as a safe space, a place to be vulnerable, where nobody brings or enforces an ‘agenda’. The kind of place where deeper connections can be made in a supportive and compassionate environment.
