my cupped hands hold the remnants of a dream
a series of images

water
some sort of boom
whispers of a cult never seen
they threw flowers over the cliff's edges
we gathered the fragrant petals and brought them home
i had been trying to leave
and then smelling the flowers, was glad i hadn't.

we work towards dreaming together.
webs knotted and then twisted and then a splash of light
and our hands deciding, holding so much color in close contact.
rainbows turned black with so much information.

in the promise of dawn is also the threat of obliteration
it hangs everpresent
mostly ignored.
it is the discordant boom which shakes me
breaks the mirror
reveals the ancient
looming
so heavy in the darkness.
i look to my hands, they hold the remnants of a dream.
