Back to our favorite winter hike, Donut Falls. Oh, man it was cold today, but that made for beautiful icicles in the cave! It was very icy climbing up to it, too, so grateful again for the cleats. D4 is kindly modeling the hat I crocheted. I’ve been trying to update my Etsy patterns this year, and this one will be back in my shop hopefully this week!

Day 244

I consider myself to be a pretty active and health conscious person, but at the end of August, my ticker sent a warning I couldn’t ignore. It’s been a long couple of months of tests, tears, and new medications as we’ve tried to figure out what’s wrong with me.

So yesterday I had an echocardiogram scheduled, and instead of leaving right after, I spent the night at the hospital after an angioplasty to fix an artery that was 99% blocked. I was so close to having a heart attack. The widowmaker. Seriously scary stuff. Now that the mystery is solved, I have to let go of the to do list and take things slow. I hope you’ll bear with the inconsistencies here while I work to get my health back in order. It’s been quite the ride.
