It is a dedicated group of people within the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. In most Volunteer Fire Companies, 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people. This work is not limited to running firetrucks up and down the street on calls, but also includes collateral duties such as maintaining the cleanliness of the apparatus and station, mentoring new members, keeping their skills sharp and making sure there is some accountability within the station from the elected and appointed leadership. This work also includes always doing their best to do the RIGHT thing and the RIGHT time and doing their part to make sure a Firetruck with competent, trained, professional and aggressive personnel answers emergencies in the Clinton/Surrattsville area. Anyone can be a member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department, but it takes a different kind of person to be part of the Surrattsville Fire Company. There is no room for slackers, loads, showboaters, fair weather firemen, t-shirt collectors or people who aren't willing to put aside their personal differences and work together to accomplish a goal. This organizations includes members of the Clinton VFD and Personnel from the Prince Georges County Career Department that are assigned to the Clinton VFD,
