Meet our Public Relations Officer, Grace McClain! I am the one who is behind all of these posts and I am happy to introduce myself! I am a junior Early Childhood Education major from North Augusta, SC. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a founding member of this organization because of its dedication to supporting all fields of education with a focus on our success so that we can support the success of our students.

We have a lot of questions about why education majors should join ASCD. The simplest answer is opportunity. Not only do we have the chance to create new events for the College of Education and bring all education majors together, but we also have opportunities to network with educators from around the state and nation!

Today we are introducing our Treasurer, Channing McConnell! Channing is a sophomore Special Education major from Belton, SC. Breana Thomas presented him with the opportunity to be a leader in a new student organization and he immediately knew he wanted to take on the responsibility.

Our exec board is made up entirely of our founding members and today we are introducing our Secretary, Deborah Jamison! Deborah is a sophomore from Sumter, SC with a double major in Secondary Education and History with a minor in Spanish.She joined ASCD to connect with other education majors because the College of Education is often divided by major. She is excited to grow and learn with other future educators as we bring more opportunities to the College of Education!

Members of the student chapter of ASCD at Clemson University recently began fundraising to support all of the upcoming events we have planned for our members! By working at baseball games, we will be able to begin seeing our plans for this new and growing organization come to life!

Several founding members of the ASCD chapter at Clemson University were recently able to attend the SCASCD Spring Conference. The members were able to meet important individuals in education including Ron Clark and Wade King from the Ron Clark Academy!

Today, we are introducing our Vice President, Hartley Craven! Hartley is a junior Early Childhood Education major from Bishopville, SC. She is involved in a sorority on campus and also works in an after school care program. Hartley hopes that through ASCD she will gain more opportunities to network with individuals in the field of education and gain more insight into her future career!

Meet the President of ASCD, Breana Thomas! Breana is a junior Early Childhood Education major from North Augusta, SC. Breana saw a need for a more diverse organization in the College of Education so she founded ASCD. Breana is a fearless leader with a passion for involvement and diversity. We are happy to have her leading us as we begin to establish our Clemson University chapter of ASCD.

ASCD stands for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. These Clemson University students have brought a student chapter onto Clemson's campus to create a space for all education majors to come together and find professional development and involvement activities.

Welcome to the new ASCD at Clemson University page! We are a new student organization at Clemson dedicated to bringing an all inclusive education organization to our student body! All education majors are welcome and encouraged to join us for countless opportunities!
