Sunsets or sunrises always provide for awesome silhouette opportunities.
A blackbird shown here during an early morning golden hour.
A purple martin...
Taken last week at the end of O Pad, where Lucy used to sit on her pole :(
When it's too hot to go out and do too much, it's time to review and play with some older photos.
This is a plane taken at the Gainesville airport a year ago....added some texture and filters to achieve this look.
Well, a night (late) spent taking a couple of hundred photo's - I saw some meteors, but they didn't get recorded.
This is a combo of about 120 photos, taken for 20secs each, with 3 seconds in between each.
A few airplanes, as they make their turns over Lake Lewisville. Night pics are always a learning experience.
Still a cool interesting photo.
I thought this (at first) a green heron...as it was a bit out there....
Wasn't until I got home, and looked at the photo more closely.
Beautiful tri-colored heron!
I wasn't able to find exact ID for this dragonfly...but I find them so fascinating!
They are easy to track and photograph, almost always coming back to the same perch over and over again.
There must have been hundreds of purple martins out at Hagerman today...
SO hard to get pics of them flying...but they were flying/landing on the trees there.

I saw a cute picture from the Fort Worth Zoo the other day of a mother gorilla and baby.
I used that as input for an AI app to create a "new" photo.
I then took the results, worked with some Photoshop painting and texture filters for this result.
This bluebird's looking a bit thirsty...hope he finds (or chases away the chickadees from), the water bowl.
A bit warm out, but as long as I keep the feeders and bird-bath filled, the backyard birds are all over the place...
Here's a group of chickadees enjoying a cool drink....
A view of the shops and shoppers on the Rialto Bridge in Florence, Italy.
When it starts heating up, the best place to be is in a nice cooling bath!
These small finches were able to refresh themselves.
As I was out watering some of the potted plants yesterday, I found this small tree frog.
Only about the size of a quarter, he was nestled amongst the leaves of the citronella plant on the patio.
With August just about here, and the summer heat starting to build, I thought I'd try to stay a bit cooler.
This original was generated in an AI app - but then I worked on turning it into a painting.
Go SNOW! :)
I love all of the dead trees....
They make such great perches for the many waterfowl present in the Refuge.
CJ and I drove down to Pilot Point today to check out the Lizzy Gator Wedding venue.
I played this as more of a cartoon type photo... :)
It's a cool, crazy chapel for anyone into a steampunk setting/scenario.
On this cloudy day, a beautiful spot of color.
Let me know your thoughts...as it would look spectacular in a large metal print on your wall! :)
A nighttime, black & white photo of the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute in Venice, Italy.
A longer exposure helped create the smooth movement of the water flowing across the lagoon. Venice is a city to NOT miss!!
Working on some older photos as I work on my Lightroom Catalogue (where all of my photos are stored).
This is a beautiful night shot in Venice, Italy.
Painted Buntings are such incredible birds...it's so hard to believe they are real.
This was singing to start the day!
Sold to a valued Gallery customer at the end of June.
They had their honeymoon in Big Bend, and really enjoyed this framed photo of Santa Elena Canyon with the Rio Grande River running between the US/Mexico.

A new print, off to a new home!!
A 16 x 24 print on metallic, matted in a rustic white frame for a finished size of 23.5 x 31.5.
A beautiful addition to their home.

Captured yesterday during my morning outing in the Refuge.
I believe a hibiscus, with a small green lynx spider checking things out.
Didn't find what I started out looking for...but this "Bird on a Wire" I thought was cool!
Beautiful sunrise in the Refuge this morning...and I WAS able to hold onto my camera - but a few too many blurry pics - so the wrist must not be strong enough yet.
Garden Spiders make such great webs, and this one provided such great colors against the darker background.
A monument/shrine along the via Via Francigena as I walked to Siena, Italy in May.

Via Francigena - Road to Rome
I wanted to post this, to all of you that have never seen an Italian cat (gatto italiano). :D
Met while walking to Siena, Italy :)
This was the view of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore outside of our hotel in Florence, Italy.
Train terminal in Rome.
We caught the "fast" train from there to Florence during our May Tuscany trip.
What an incredible place - HUGE, and we had a bit of a wait for our train.
