Alpha Omicron Pi, Omega Upsilon, Ohio University
We are the women of Alpha Omicron Pi at Ohio University! Alpha Omicron Pi was founded at Barnard College on January 2nd, 1897. The jewel is the Ruby.
On a snowy day, in the stacks of the Columbia Library, four women- Stella George Stern Perry, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, Jessie Wallace Hughan, and Helen St. Clair Mullan, pledged to each other their unending friendship. Together they watched as the fraternity they so loved grew from one chapter to two, to five, until it became what it is today. Internationally, Alpha Omicron Pi has grown to over 17

🤍LETTER FROM OUR VPMR🤍
Dear Potential new members,
Hello! My name is Emilie Owens and I am Alpha Omicron Pi’s Vice President of Membership Recruitment. I am so excited for Panhellenic recruitment to happen in the fall. I have been waiting to meet you all since I got this position and have so many plans to make it as special for you guys as I felt when I was in your shoes. It is so crazy to think that after two weeks of meeting all of the amazing chapters on campus you will have found your forever home, and best friends. Joining greek life has changed my college experience. I have met my best friends and biggest support system in my chapter. I never thought I would be running recruitment and sharing my excitement to you all, but that is the great thing about Greek life. Throughout the process I want you to remember to always be your most authentic self and trust your gut. Don’t make your decisions based on the majority of the crowd. Recruitment is an individual experience for everyone, and trust me it is so worth it in the end. Find the chapter that feels like home, and where you can see yourself thriving. I could go on and on about joining a sorority and finding your home, but I will end it here for you guys. AOII can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces.
With Alpha Love,
Emilie

Continuing with our recruitment overview, today AOII will highlight the last round of recruitment, 🌹
During the last day of recruitment, you will get to visit up to 2 chapters and get to see what truly makes those chapters special. At AOII, our Preference round highlights why each of our sisters have found their home in our chapter and among each other!
Our chapter prides itself on following its submotto, Individual but United, as we encourage all our members to be uniquely themselves within our collective sisterhood. We also aim to follow our international motto, Inspire Ambition, as our sisterhood works to provide a support system so that each of our members to achieve their dreams. We are so excited to share our chapters core values with you and why AOII is so special to each of us during this round!
Finally, during this round, AOII wears fancy cocktail or long dresses. For PNMs, our recommendation for you all would be to wear a cocktail dress or jumpsuit as this day is the most formal! This year, preference will be the morning before bid day, so you won’t have to wait long before you receive your bid after this round!
AOII is so excited to see you all at Preference 2023💖

We can’t wait to see our sisters back on campus in 2 weeks! Tag a sister you are ready to be reunited with🫶
Nothing more perfect than introducing our next round of recruitment on National Friendship Day! Today AOII will highlight the next round of recruitment, 🌸
During the third day of recruitment, you will get to visit up to 5 chapters and learn about what makes their sisterhood so special! At AOII, our Sisterhood round highlights our annual sisterhood events, living in the chapter house, and the people who make our chapter so special, our sisters!
Our chapter prides itself on being a place where our sisters can grow into the best versions of themselves, feel supported in their academic and personal endeavors, and just a place where our sisters can have fun! Our chapter holds multiple sisterhood/social events throughout the year, including our fall semester visit to Libby’s Pumpkin Patch and spring semester Blind Date Party. We are also so excited to learn more about what you value in your friendships during this round and what you are looking for in a sisterhood!
Finally, during this round, AOII wears dresses and jumpsuits. For PNMs, our recommendation for you all would be to wear a dress or jumpsuit that you would wear to a cute brunch with your friends! This day is a great opportunity to truly let your personality shine!!
AOII is so excited to see you all at Sisterhood 2023💖
As we get closer to the start of work week, AOII would like to continue with our insight into the rounds of recruitment! Next up, 🩵
During the second day of recruitment, you will get to visit up to 8 chapters and learn about their philanthropic efforts! At AOII, our Values and Service round highlights our national philanthropy, The Arthritis Foundation!
We are proud to support The Arthritis Foundation’s efforts to fund arthritis research, advocate for patients, and build a community for the 60 million adults and 300,000 children affect by arthritis. Last year, our chapter raised over $1,000 for The Arthritis Foundation through multiple fundraisers, including our signature Strike Out Arthritis event! We are also so excited to learn more about your involvement in your community and what issues you care about!
Finally, during this round, to show our support for those affected by Juvenile Arthritis. For PNMs, our recommendation for you all would be to wear a casual sundress or matching set! But no matter what, the most important thing is to make sure you feel comfortable and confident in whatever you wear!
AOII is so excited to see you all at Values and Service 2023💖
Over the next couple weeks, AOII would like to give you some insight into the rounds of recruitment! First up, ⚡️
The first day of recruitment is when you get to meet all 10 chapters for the first time! At AOII, our Meet the Chapters round highlights our four values: character, dignity, college loyalty, and scholarship.
We are also so excited to also learn more about you and what you are passionate about! At AOII, our sisters have a wide range of majors and we have sisters in so many organizations including The Post, Thread Magazine, Picardy Thirds, ROTC, and more!
Finally, during this round, our sisters wear elevated casual attire, normally a matching AOII t-shirt and long pants/jeans. For PNMs, our recommendation for you all would be to dress in a similar fashion to chapters, meaning a nice top and either nice shorts, jeans, or a fun skirt! Outfits are a great way to show off your personal style!
AOII is so excited to see you all at Meet the Chapters 2023💖

We take 🏳️🌈 PRIDE 🏳️🌈 in our members
Alpha Omicron Pi is a fraternity founded on the ideals of Character, Scholarship, College Loyalty, and Dignity. As the Omega Upsilon Chapter, we uphold our submotto of being Individual but United.
We celebrate our unique identities and sexualities- knowing that we did not always have the freedom to express such things and are still working to fight inequalities of the LGBTQIA+ community in our nation.
To us, Pride is more than a month, and we’d like to thank our members for being authentically themselves 💕🌈
Howdy from AOII 🤠💕
This past weekend, our President and VP of Membership Recruitment attended ’s 2023 International Convention!
They had the chance to connect with alumni, support the Arthritis Foundation, make friends from around the country, and meet herself!!
Until next year🌹
