How Do I Handle the Fear That I'm Feeling? 02/04/2020

I will be sharing some meditations and teachings that I find to be profound. Eckhart Tolle shares about how our current situation is like "an enforced closing down of the busyness we always feel." InJoy!

How Do I Handle the Fear That I'm Feeling? In this video, Eckhart answers how we transcend any fearful thoughts we might have about losing our job, money, getting sick, or the fear of something happen...

Dear God,

To the World filled with fear,
Send forth your Love
To those whose lives are damaged
Send forth your healing
To those in in need of help
Send forth your helpers
For those who are homeless now.
May your arms be the only home they need,
Come to them with comfort
Come to them with food
Come to them with shelter
Come to them with hope
Send angels visible and invisible
To aid them in their time of need.
Amen

Marianne Williamson - 2 Minutes of Global Prayer 22/03/2020

Good morning and may you be InJoy today. One of my favorite teachers has a 2 minute Global Prayer today at 11am CST. Collectively praying is powerful. Please go silent, go within, focus on your heart and say a prayer for 2 minutes. If you don’t have one, you may use the one I am posting now. With love, Mona.

Such a great reminder for me today to live moment by moment, day by day. Be InJoy now!

One Day at a Time

BY MADISYN TAYLOR
Taking one step at a time makes life much easier to navigate rather than always looking at the big picture.

The years of our life do not arrive all at once; they greet us day by day. With the descent of each setting sun, we are able to rest our heads and let the world take care of itself for a while. We may rest assured throughout the night, knowing that the dawn will bring with it a chance to meet our lives anew, donning fresh perspectives and dream-inspired hopes. The hours that follow, before we return to sleep once more, are for us to decide how we want to live and learn, laugh and grow. Our lives are sweeter and more manageable because we must experience them this way: one day at a time.

Imagine the future stretching out before you and try to notice if you feel any tension or overwhelm at the prospect of the journey still to come. Perhaps you have recently made a lifestyle change, like beginning a new diet or quitting smoking, and the idea of continuing this healthy new behavior for years seems daunting. Maybe you have started a new job or are newly married and can feel an undercurrent of anxiety about your ability to succeed. If you can shift your focus from what may happen years down the line and return it to the day that is before you right now, you may find a measure of calm and renewed confidence in your capabilities. You may also discover an inner faith that the future will take care of itself.

The way we show up for our lives today and tomorrow has an enormous affect on who we will be and what we will be experiencing years from now. If we can remain fully engaged in the day at hand, enjoying all it has to offer and putting our energy into making the most of it, we will find that we are perfectly ready and capable to handle any future when it arrives.

September 6 and 7 - Meditation Events
Interactive. Complimentary. Supportive. That's Tai Chi. Experience the power of "meditation in motion" with us while you balance your body, mind and spirit at September's class.
Tuesday, September 6th at First Presbyterian Church, Arlington Heights - 7pm to 8:30pm.
Considered as physical exercise, Tai Chi is a sophisticated system of movement designed to work virtually all the tissues of the body – muscles, connective tissue, nervous system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, and more. Tai Chi practice can increase flexibility, strength, balance, and energy, while improving circulation, and calming stressed-out nerves. Those benefits alone make Tai Chi an ideal exercise, whether as a primary practice or a supplement to other exercise programs. Equally important, Tai Chi is a lot of fun to do!
But Tai Chi is much more than physical exercise. Developed over centuries in China, Tai Chi includes sophisticated QiGong (Qi or Chi = energy; Gong = practice), Tai Chi is a powerful martial art system, and, at a very high level, can be practiced as a form of moving meditation.
Our guide for this wonderful practice is Walter Cook, an instructor at the Taoist Tai Chi Society.
Free - Donations are always welcome

The arrival of one or more rainy days can also be interpreted as a signal to slow down and contemplate life.
The simple miracle of water falling from the sky has been interpreted in many ways by many cultures. In various areas of the world, rain was viewed as a nourishing gift, given by well-pleased deities. Rain also served as a symbol of emotional cleansing and represented the unending union between earth and sky. Today, rain is often seen as an annoyance—something to be borne doggedly while attending to one’s usual duties. But the arrival of one or more rainy days can also be interpreted as a signal to slow down and contemplate life. When Mother Nature darkens the sky and causes drizzle to fall, freshly opened buds close and many animals settle into their nests for a period of repose. We can honor rainy days by following the example put forth by the flora and fauna around us. Even if we must venture out into a shower, we can still slow down and appreciate our connection to nature.

Such a wise man.

How You Lose Inner Peace Eckhart teaches the most precious thing in your life is the inner state of your consciousness, and yet we so easily we lose our peace to external conditions. What areas of your life are you dependent on external conditions for your happiness and sense of well being?

Why Silence Is So Good For Your Brain 07/03/2016

Silence is Golden. Great article!

Why Silence Is So Good For Your Brain In a loud and distracting world, finding pockets of stillness can benefit your brain and body. Here are four science-backed reasons why.

1) you can train your brain to change, 2) that the change is measurable, and 3) new ways of thinking can change it for the better. Did you meditate today? Just 10 minutes of mindfulness in silence - that's it.

How the Brain Changes When You Meditate - Mindful By charting new pathways in the brain, mindfulness can change the banter inside our heads from chaotic to calm.
