Hypnotherapology” isn’t the only indie single you should be listening to this fall, but if you ask me, it’s one of the best vocal-driven pop songs to come from the left side of the dial in a long time. There aren't a lot of ballads that step away from the theatrics as smoothly as this one, and even though there’s a lot of depth that I think this artist could be exploring more liberally the next time he steps into the recording studio, I think this demonstrates a star-quality ‘it’ factor that will make Hourstone all the more attractive to pop fans looking for something fresh right now. On this I feel compelled to open up about a chapter in my life marked by profound struggles. In the throes of my youth, I found myself in the grip of despair. The world had plunged into darkness when I lost my uncle, and shortly thereafter, my father died unexpectedly. These two pillars of my life crumbled, leaving my mother overwhelmed by the weight of grief. As a result, I was sent to an overseas school and foster parents in a foreign country, a place where the shadows of cruelty loomed large. Life didn't carry much meaning for me, I just couldn't see any.

Within those bleak and lonely days, it often felt as though all hope had abandoned me. However, in the profound solitude, I discovered a piano and started creating music on it, music becoming my invisible companion. It felt as if music had come to save me and between music and me was the only real dialogue in my life at the time. Music became the beacon of light that guided me through the labyrinth of despair, and it is the sole reason why I stand here today.

I share this in the hopes that all who read this may feel a small comfort in knowing they are not alone.
