WE'RE BACK Y'ALL!!!! And we're starting with Chae’s homebirth story! Our co-host Chae Pounds is a midwife in training and now a mother of 4! She's an apprentice midwife and also works with and runs Sunflower Society group and discussion forum. We also have the pleasure of hearing from her husband and the partero himself, Mensa Pounds. Mensa () is a recording artist, a school teacher, and an advocate of homebirth. Their story addresses iron-deficiency anemia in pregnancy, planning an unassisted birth also known as a family birth, prodromal labor, the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on postpartum, the postpartum soup diet and how even when birth is normal we can sometimes become anxious or overwhelmed even when everything is normal!
