Our Story
Founded in 1955 from a strong friendship between Dr. Chaijudh Karnasuta and Mr. Georgio Berlingieri, Italthai Group has grown to be one of Thailand’s leading conglomerate today. Italthai’s business portfolio is balanced between two segments that are fundamental to the Thai economy: the Construction Equipment, and Engineering Services & Construction contractor businesses, which is tied to Thailand’s infrastructure development projects; and the Hospitality and Lifestyle businesses, which is tied to Thailand’s globally competitive tourism industry. Currently, Italthai Group has over 5,500 employees in eight countries across Asia Pacific.

Construction Equipment Business is the distributor and after-sale service unit of machinery in Thailand and Lao PDR under “Italthai Industrial Co.,Ltd. (ITI).
Engineering Services & Construction Contractor Business provides turnkey construction solutions under Italthai Engineering Co.,Ltd. (ITE), Thailand’s leading EPC contractor, involved with electric power plants and large scale utilities which use high technology both within and outside of the country under the international standards ISO 9001 : 2015, ISO 14001 : 2015 and OHSAS 18001 : 2007.
Hospitality & Lifestyle Businesses
Hospitality Business operates hotels and serviced apartments under
ONYX Hospitality Group . It is one of Asia-Pacific’s leading hospitality management companies, operating hotels, serviced apartments and spas under the key brand names of Amari, OZO, and Shama. ONYX Hospitality Group has a portfolio of 50 properties and over 7,000 rooms across eight countries and territories including Thailand, China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Laos, the Maldives, Bangladesh and Qatar, supplemented by a development pipeline of close to 30 new hotels.
In addition, Italthai Group is also a shareholder of Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, one of the most prestigious and oldest hotel in the world.
The Lifestyle Business is witnessing parallel growth alongside Thailand’s tourism industry, and focuses on HORECA and Retail entities. It consists of two businesses: Italthai Hospitality Co.,Ltd. (IHC), an importer and distributor of beverages and fine wine brands as well as the sole franchisee of TWG Tea Salon & Boutique in Thailand.
In addition, River City Bangkok Shopping Center operated by Chao Phraya Development Corporation has been recently revitalized and positioned as the ‘Anchor of Arts and Antiques’ by the Chaophraya River.
