October DMAQG Piecetime News WOW! Congratulations to Lisa and Julie for the Awesome Quilt Show! We heard so many raving reviews from visitors throughout the Midwest. It takes a lot of work, from a lot of people and we should all be proud! Thank you all!
Our beautiful raffle quilt has travelled once again – this time to it’s final destination! Our president, Mary Franck, picked the lucky winner and the quilt was awarded to Suzanne Ritchey. Congratulations Suzanne!
We have heard many compliments about our quilts. Thank you for your kind words. Today is the final day of Quilting in the Key of Life. Catch a glimpse of these beauties below.
In 25 minutes the show opens for its last day of 2023. Our vendors have a lot to offer. Here's a bird's eye view.
Big Stitch is legit!!!
At our resource table you can learn about hand piecing..... just like great, great grandma used to do.
Stop at our Resourse Table for a lesson.
There are an amazing amount of techniques. We have members willing to share their tip & tricks.
We are open!
Just walked through the vendor area. Something different at each place. So much to see.
Can you find these items??
We've had three secret judges!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Our special displays would not occur without our sponsors.
What terrific vendors we have this year. You'll see some from our former shows and some new.
Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver and other gold. 🩷🩷
Congratulations to ALL the ribbon recipients. It had to be difficult for the judges to choose. The quilts are exquisite.
This year we have some "Secret Judges." The first of these judges chose her favorite. Scroll through these photos to the end to see which was chosen.

We have a selection of large bags made by our guild members for carrying your quilts - though a case of your favorite beverage would fit as well. $30 each - cash and carry.
They are going up!!!
You get to see the entire quilt. They are amazing!
Not only are quilters setting up, but vendors are preparing for all those coming to see our quilts and check out the tools which make quilting easier or more unique.
We have over an estimated 1 TON, yes, 2,000 pounds, of quilts being unloaded, sorted, and hung for tomorrow's show.
Yoohoo, where are you little (& big) quilt. Are you hiding in one of those pillowcases?
So many quilts have been turned in for the show! Amazing.
Did you know that not all quilts are judged? You may look at a quilt and wonder why it doesn't have a ribbon.
Our quilters decide if they want to have their quilt judged, or not. Judges give valuable information about what can be done to improve our quilting.
The guild members are quilters at different levels and enjoy different techniques. One who is excellent at English Paper Piecing may have tried Appliqué. It can be a fine example, but the quilter may want to practice more before having their work judged.
On the quilt label the "J" indicates a Judged quilt. A "NJ" indicates the Non-Judged category.
In the photo below the judged quilts have been wrapped up carefully and are ready to be transported.
Look for the ribbons when you come to the show, but remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder and each guild member is sharing their love of our craft.
One quilter's haul from the vendors at last year's Quilt Show.
Time to dig in couch cushions, empty cookie jars, check the mattress for some extra cash. There will be so many fun items to choose from.
Remember, you can get reduced price tickets to our Quilting in the Key of Life Quilt Show.
