While traveling to Turkey, Inspiration came from African culture ties in Istanbul. To honor Black History Month 2023, we wanted to showcase the history of African descendants from Turkieye.

Afro-Turks are descendants of slaves brought to Turkey in the latter part of the 19th century, during the Ottoman Empire. Afro-Turks are descended from mostly slaves from Ethiopia, Niger, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Kenya, and Sudan.

This design gives a feel of a merge between African & Turkiye culture.

Traveling to other countries truly gives the best inspiration for conceptualization.
