The Best Start

Pinagpalang bagong taon at maligayang pagbabalik trabaho at eskwela sa maraming mga Pilipino ngayon. How do we start the year right after overcoming a very challenging year? Maganda ang paalala sa atin sa Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you." Putting God first in everything is always the best start in life and at work.

Magandang araw, ako si Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides partner mo sa inspiradong buhay at trabaho.

Maaaring ikaw ay nasa vacation mode pa rin at medyo naninibago na kailangan mo ng magbalik trabaho ngayon, work from home man iyan o sa mismong opisina ninyo. Kaya hayaan mong pabaunan kita ng apat na tips to set you on the right track this new year.

1) Bring a fresh mindset to work Ang bawat bagong taon ay may hatid na bago at sariwang panimula. Kaya pagpasok mo sa opisina, baunin ang bagong kaisipan na ang taong ito ay magiging mas mabuti kaysa dati. You are better equipped to face new challenges. You are more resilient and definitely stronger now than you were last year. Bring with you a fresh vision of what you hope to accomplish this year.

2) Exercise faith. Manampalataya sa Diyos. Manalig sa kakayahang mayroon ka. Magtiwala sa katrabaho at sa kapwa. Maraming bagay na hindi natin mapagtatagumpayan kung tayo ay nag-iisa. Kaya nga, to live and work in communities is God's design for us to thrive. Faith in God, in yourself and others will not just help you get a good start, you need it to finish well in your journey.

3) Silence your fears. Maraming bagay ang hindi nasimulan at nasubikan dahil sa takot. Takot magkamali, takot mapahiya, takot na mabigo. Fear will always stop you from trying and starting something new. Ang sabi sa Psalm 27:1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? You want a good start for the new year? Silence your fears.

4) Try learning a new skill. You are never too old to learn something new. Naalala ko ang Nanay ko, kahit na noong nagkasakit siya at nasa ospital, she looked forward to my daily visit because we would learn new songs together. That took her mind off from her sickness and helped her become more hopeful. Ikaw rin ay maraming maaaring matutunan ngayong taon. Ano ba ang nasa bucket list mo?

The beginning of a new year always gives us a clean slate. I hope that these tips will nudge you to start the year with your best foot forward. Bring a fresh mindset, exercise faith, silence your fears and try to learn a new skill.
