So many people have commented on the generosity of our suit gifts to exonerees. They require a lot of our time and financial resources.

But, dear reader, it’s what we gain that matters.

We get to meet and know people who still have faith in a world that had let them down. We meet and know people who cherish every moment, who can love, who might truly understand what freedom and life is really about. We make good friends. Our perspective shifts. Our hearts expand. The gift is to us.

It’s an honor to have made a suit for Mr. Termaine Hicks as a part of our ongoing commitment to make exonerees free custom clothing.

In November of 2001, Mr. Hicks heard the screams of a woman being r***d in an alley in South Philadelphia and attempted to help her. Police arrived on the scene and erroneously assumed Termaine was the assailant and shot him three times in the back.

Realizing Mr. Hicks did not match the description of the attacker provided by a neighbor to 911, the officers began a massive cover-up which included:

*Planting a gun at the time of the attack
*Lying repeatedly under oath
*Viewing footage on the day of the attack which would have excluded Mr. Hicks as a suspect and not disclosing the footage until after the trial.

The took on Termaine’s case in 2011 and pursued DNA testing. On 12/16/20 Termaine’s conviction was overturned. (Check out his monogram in second slide!)

Mr. Hicks is now a national speaker against wrongful convictions and gun violence. He is also a volunteer at the Juvenile Justice Center, a Dad, a Packers fan and all around wonderful human who doesn’t even mind how much I love the Boston Celtics. Thank you for trusting us with your suit.
