Rippin Gary Kitten patrolling the Canadian skis for drones. Wildland firefighting involves the use of lots of aircraft - whether it’s helicopters bucketing water, moving firefighters, or conducting aerial ignition, or fixed wing tankers and water bombers.

All aircraft need space to safely operate. An illegally operated personal drone recently shut down air operations on the Canadian fire fighting efforts.

In Canada, the airspace around any wildfire is automatically considered flight restricted
