Foran sydens kloster (Before a Southern Convent) , Op. 20 07/06/2023

Another neglected bit of dramatic music is Grieg's Before a Southern Convent (Foran sydens kloster) scored for orchestra, soprano and alto soloists and women's chorus. This ten-minute oratorio is gloriously beautiful and heartbreaking and was intended as as exercise in Grieg's creation of a dramatic scene. Well, he succeeded.

Come hear me sing Ingigerd!
