IceSoc focuses on both the technical and social aspects of ice-skating and we are keen to share the sport with the wider UNSW student community, regardless of style - figure, hockey, free-style or in-line, and level - beginner, intermediate or advanced. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed events director who is keen to continue this vision in 2022! ⛸

Process:
1. Complete the EOI form which will close at 12:00am midnight Friday 18th March
2. Attend our EGM in week 6 (exact date TBA) with a self-nomination speech prepared
3. A voting process will ensue to officially elect our new Events Director (majority voting system)

A big thanks to everyone who came to our Meet and Greet event on Thursday! It was so wonderful meeting everyone and we hope you had a great time with the ice-breaker activities, maybe picking up some ice-skating skills and most importantly making some new friends! 😊

Cathy and Valerie form the backbone of IceSoc in overseeing all aspects of the society’s functions. Over the year, they have worked tirelessly to deliver awesome in-person and online events, collaborations, engaging graphics and cool merchandise.
But in an even more admirable display of dedication, they have truly gone above and beyond in fostering a sense of genuine belonging for all members in an ever-expanding IceSoc family, uniting a diverse group of students through our shared passion for ice skating!

In our third last installment of this series, IceSoc is glad to introduce our 2021 Secretary and Treasurer, respectively:
✨ Talah Al-Jelani and Ziyue Wu ✨
Talah and Ziyue are essential to the administrative and financial dimensions of management within IceSoc. Talah has been working tirelessly behind the scenes with negotiations and other business-related dealings to make the 2021 IceSoc Hoodies happen.
Ziyue, even though she has been unable to join the IceSoc family here in Australia due to international travel bans, has been working diligently as the treasurer remotely.
The IceSoc family misses her so much and we hope that she may finally be able to re-join us here on campus and at our events next year! ❤️

IceSoc is pleased to announce our 2021 Marketing Director (& Arc Delegate) and Events Director, respectively:
✨Steven Watts and Grace Chen✨

Steven and Grace are both long-standing IceSoc members and veterans in their respective skating styles. Steven, in fact, was part of the first-generation executive team and helped found the society in 2018!
Both directors are keen to share their passion for ice-skating with the greater UNSW student community through their respective portfolios. They are both really cool and down-to-earth people so make sure you take the opportunity to talk to them at our events and gain some pearls of ice-skating wisdom! 🤩

We're now on Gapmash, a new platform for students to find society events around their timetables. Whilst we are not holding any events at the moment, you will be able to see our future events on there, in addition to our Facebook events!
