Return to Sender
By: Reilly Costenbader
“Hello?”
I hear my voice return to me,
Through suffering and misery,
Darkness is all I see,
Blinded and bound
By the unforeseen
I utter with my last breath,
“Hello”
It returns to me.
My Fallen Angel
By: Reilly Costenbader 11/8/23
Black wings of the fallen on her back,
Like the mark of a sinner,
Yet a glowing halo like a crown atop her head,
Orange and bright like the sun,
A woman conflicted while also certain,
She is brave,
She is powerful,
She will find that clarity,
The clarity born of love and truth,
Justice, Fate and the Divine all on her side.
Oh, my blessed fallen angel how I love you so.

The Voices of The Damned
By: Reilly Costenbader
Hear me,
As you fall through the void,
The voices of demons and harpies scrape the inside of your mind,
You feed into Unrighteous Madness,
So unbecoming,
So unbearable,
The voices begin to wear you down,
Changing you,
Molding you,
You are their target,
Their mark,
Their freedom incarnate,
You think the madness has awakened you? Evolved you?
It’s blinded you,
Changed you,
Killed you.
The demons have you now. **kandrewtate
The Serpent Who Cuts Through Grass
By: Reilly Costenbader
I taste the wind,
Feel it race upon my skin,
Kimono bellowing,
The petals dance around me,
Bringing joy to the ancestors above,
I draw my blade,
Steel cuts through the wind,
Like a serpent cuts through the grass,
I spin as the petals dance around me,
Become me,
The wind is my guide,
The petals the emissary,
I, The Serpent who cuts through grass.
