I like it when the wood decides. That is why, after turning, the rings deform by themselves, without me using any wedges. It is always an element of surprise.

Lately I rarely make bowls. This one was made from an old oak, which grew on the client's property. His grandfather planted it. The tree had to be cut down, but this way part of it will stay with the family forever.
