Liz Wallace Jewelry
I want to fill the world with razzle dazzle. Ya'aht'eh and welcome to my jewelry page! Ahe'hee for visiting.
I'm a Nisenan/Washo/Dine' artist and I've been making silver jewelry since 1996. I've taken a variety of classes over the years and dabble in alot of different styles. My specialties include enamelling, chasing/repousse', stamped haiku, and the classic turquoise and silver work. I grew up near the ocean and loved nature as a child so I do alot of aquatic creatures, insects, plants, and metal baske
I LOOOOVE all the rain we’re getting but I’m whipping up some oiled rags to cover my tools with!!!!
Phew!!!! These took a while. Clockwise from upper left; natural Burtis Blue, purple spiny with Colombian emeralds, natural Fox, and the puffy silver hearts have natural Sleeping Beauty drops. The stamps are from Morris Robinson.
DM for price!
P.S. Some of you may have noticed my prices have gone up significantly on some pieces. Some factors are I use natural turquoise and it’s not easy to replenish my stash, my eyes are not what they used to be, my hands done hold up much these days, my neck and back are NOT happy after three decades of this, and I’m taking more time with pieces.
Twenty years ago I could pull 16 hour shifts through the night, my body barely noticed, turquoise was easy to come by, and I wasn’t as present or mindful as I am now.
Hopefully my shift to better quality over knocking things out will work out. I appreciate your understanding!
Just painted the backs of my earring stones with brass powder paint! I like to cut out the silver backs so they’re lighter weight.
Soldering those dangles was EXTRA challenging this time. I actually melted a couple!!!!
She made herself right at home. Not sure who she belongs to but she likes visiting me. Probably has something to do with the scratches and sardines I give her. I call her Nuku Nuku and I already did a haiku series about her.
Five pairs of earrings in progress. Two will have dangles, one Sleeping Beauty drops, and two stamped edges. I used Morris Robinson stamps for those.
Well DANG IT. Got nipped by a German shepherd while I was out walking tonight! The owner was very apologetic and did some first aid, and she’s going to help me in my yard as compensation. Hopefully it’ll heal up soon so I can make more pretty jewelries!
The dog was vaccinated and I can move it, and I could’ve walked around them as it was dark. Maybe I smelled like cat, too, I dunno.
Just posted my 64th Patreon video! Only $4/month and you can try the first week for free.

This size is $60/pair.
Freshwater pearl drops! On my world famous Argentium 19 g wires. $100/pair.
Ok these do look kinda yummy…. $200 a pair. Smoked salmon earrings made from fine silver and vitreous enamel.
When I was growing up in Nisenan land salmon were plentiful. The grown ups would come in with coolers packed with fresh salmon! I love that fresh fish scent and how beautiful the skin was.
The flesh was such a beautiful color, and when it was smoked I ate it like candy.
Earrings in progress! It’s been a while since I’ve done the classic turquoise ones and I’m doing the basic pearl drops. It’s been hard finding good pearls at any price lately but I know you all love these!
So after hours of studio alchemy, scrubbing, pickling, retexturing, enamelling, and overall retweeking these smoked salmon earrings came out better. Not what I was hoping for but better. I’ll definitely keep playing with this design, maybe even trying it in cloissoné.
Since these are experimental I’ll sell them for $200 a pair!
Just finished my 1980s earrings! Copper, enamel, 23K gold foil, fine silver foil, sterling chain, and FW pearls. $300 a pair.
Update on US vs. Aysheh trial:
First of all I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the IACB, US Fish and Wildlife, and to the US District Attorneys. They’ve labored for years meticulously compiling evidence and building a case against people who had Navajo jewelry copied in the Philippines, which was then sold as authentic.
This is one time the government went above and beyond to protect Native artists and communities. Everyone I spoke to about this was very dedicated and very interested in being allies.
This morning around 10 am Judge Herrera dismissed the case before the jury could decide if there was conspiracy to violate the Indian Arts and Crafts Act. She decided for everyone that the government had failed to prove conspiracy.
I’m not very knowledgeable about legal proceedings but my impression was that there was a mountain of evidence. I was an expert witness and testified at length yesterday on the designs that were copied in that Philippines sweat shop. I shared many aspects of Dinè culture with the courtroom. It seemed a foregone conclusion.
There were several odd things going on. Even though expert witnesses are typically allowed to watch the full trial the judge ruled I had to leave the courtroom until it was time for me to take the stand. She did the same to another witness after he’d been excused.
This is devastating news. I know many of you will be outraged and I implore folks to get more organized and involved if possible. This affects Native communities and every business that relies on Native art as well as collectors.
Also, some higher ups are trying to get the IACA to include artwork made with non-Native labor, which could severely undercut the spirit of the law.
I’m going to have some hot tea now as I just got home and need to process all this.
Ahe’hee everyone who has been supportive of my efforts.
Spiders!!!!
Organized my burrs, bits, and mandrel today. I feel like such a badass.
Fresh outa my kiln! Two enameled spider bodies and some ‘80s inspired earrings. I was a kid during the ‘80s but I sure loved all the bold graphic jewelry. And neon makeup! But I never got to try it.
I want to add chain along the bottom with a pearl dangle.
My smoked salmon earrings came out more like burnt candy canes!!!!! Aaaarrrrggggg!!!!! But at least I can try the cream of tartar / salt thing.
Whew! Still a little finessing left to do but mostly DONE! She is available and is a pin and pendant.
Yaaasss!!!! I’m accepted into SWAIA Indian Market for jewelry and basketry!!!! It’ll be my second year on the south side of the Plaza under the portal.
A while back I bought some baroque pearls on Etsy as SFJS didn’t carry the ones I like anymore. Unfortunately what I got resembled two strands of used chewing gum. I was able to pull a couple of pairs I could salvage but they had many imperfections.
So I bought some Preciosa crystals and today I applied them with gold-colored epoxy.
I may make this a regular thing! But I still left a two star review on that Etsy store.
I think I’m going with this rounder pouch. I had to create a whole new mini stake from an Allen wrench!!!!
She’s coming along! I may do a different pouch though, this one just isn’t feeling right for me.
Two pair of haiku earrings, hot off the press! $150 a pair. You can mix n match.
One of my absolute favorite foods is smoked salmon. When I was a kid in Nisenan land the adults would get huuuge salmon in the river and an uncle would smoke some! I ate it like candy. I did some smoked salmon earrings before in copper but I’m doing them in silver now. I even have salmon colored enamel!
Below are some super cute MOP drilled squares that came with some vintage turquoise I bought years ago. Hoping to add some turquoise on the sides.
I just added my 51st vid on Patreon!

I have drawers full of cut out shapes in silver and copper. This orchid has been beckoning me so I committed!
I FINALLY found some nice baroque pearls for earrings!!!! I risked another Etsy purchase and it was worth it. They’re more colorful than the picture captured. One strand is peach and the other is pinkish lavender.
I don’t know why decent pearls are so hard to come by these days but I can’t find those luscious pink ones I got known for ANYWHERE for any price.
These will be $60 a pair, and they’ll be on my world famous 19 gauge Argentium wires.
If you want any it’s best to lay claim now. I don’t know if I’ll find these again anytime soon.
New goodies! Available….
