At Thrive Senses, we firmly believe that the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals is interconnected with the health of the planet. George is currently in New York and will be moderating an event at the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) tomorrow, Monday 7th July. The topic is Education to Combat the Climate Crisis. If you’d like to watch, it will be live-streamed on UN Web TV.

By pausing before reacting, we can move from impulsive reactions to thoughtful responses. This allows us to consciously choose our actions rather than being driven by immediate emotions or external pressures. In turn, we can regain control over our behaviour and decisions. Instead of giving away our power to circumstances or others by automatically reacting, we reclaim it by making deliberate choices.

Our latest blog post discusses the importance of forgiveness for both physical and mental health. Forgiveness isn’t about letting the wrongdoer off the hook or condoning their actions, it’s about prioritising your own well-being and making space for more positive feelings to define your outlook and life experiences. Head over to our website, www.thrivesenses.com, to read all about it.

Forgiveness is an act of self-compassion. When we forgive someone, it doesn’t mean that we excuse their actions or release them from responsibility. Instead, it’s a gift we give to ourselves -a decision to let go of anger, resentment and the desire for revenge. By forgiving, we liberate ourselves from the emotional burden of carrying grudges. Holding onto anger only continues to harm us, whereas forgiveness offers us the opportunity to heal and move forward with our lives.

We all know what it’s like to carry the weight of a grudge or resentment. By choosing to forgive, we can release ourselves from all-consuming negative emotions and create space for healing and inner peace. Forgiveness doesn’t mean condoning or forgetting the wrongdoing, but rather freeing ourselves from the burden of anger and bitterness.

Beauty and positivity exist in every situation, we just have to alter our perspective to find them. A mindset shift towards appreciation and optimism fosters a sense of gratitude, resilience and emotional balance, which can significantly improve our mental well-being and our physical health.

Valentines Day is a good time to reflect on the transformative nature of love in all its forms, whether that be love for your family, love for your friends, love for your community, love for the things that give you a sense of meaning and purpose in life, romantic love, or, most importantly, self-love. Self-love is the cornerstone of positive personal growth and well-being. It’s the gentle embrace of our own essence, the recognition of our inherent worthiness and the commitment to our own happiness and fulfillment. When we practice self-love, we cultivate a deep sense of acceptance and compassion towards ourselves, nurturing our resilience and self-care. It empowers us to set healthy boundaries, prioritise self-care, and pursue our dreams with confidence and authenticity. In a world that often seems to demand perfection, comparison and validation through romantic attachments, self-love serves as a guiding light, reminding us to honour and celebrate our uniqueness and embrace our imperfections with kindness and grace. So this Valentines Day, consciously take some time to extend some love to yourself. You deserve it.

Our relationship with ourselves sets the template for how others perceive and treat us. When we cultivate self-love and self-respect, we demonstrate our worthiness. By prioritising self-care and self-compassion, we not only enhance our own well-being, but also model healthy behaviour for others, teaching them how to love and respect us in return.

Our latest blog post discusses the importance of establishing healthy boundaries and offers 10 steps to help you start. Head over to our website, www.thrivesenses.com, to read all about it.

15/01/2024

It’s important to find a middle ground between boundaries that are too rigid and boundaries that are too soft. Having healthy, reasonable boundaries means that you communicate your thoughts and feelings with ease and confidence. You prioritise your needs over other people’s wants. You’re comfortable saying no and are accepting when other people say no.

15/01/2024

Setting boundaries is crucial for maintaining healthy relationships and personal well-being. Boundaries serve as invisible lines that define the limits of acceptable behavior, helping us to create a sense of safety, respect and autonomy. By clearly communicating and enforcing our personal boundaries, we can protect ourselves from emotional and physical harm and prevent burnout. Boundaries also contribute to effective communication, as they establish expectations and guidelines for interaction. Without boundaries, we may find ourselves overwhelmed, stressed, or taken advantage of, which can hinder personal growth and the development of meaningful connections. Defining and asserting our boundaries is an essential skill that empowers us to navigate our lives with confidence and integrity.

Our latest blog post details 5 benefits of talking about your problems. Visit our website, www.thrivesenses.com, to read all about it. The simple act of talking about your problems can be a powerful step towards leading a more fulfilling and happier life. Embrace the opportunity to connect with others, share your journey, and discover the transformative impact it can have on your wellbeing.

04/09/2023

By sharing your concerns with others, you not only unburden yourself emotionally but also gain valuable insights, strengthen your relationships, and build resilience.

22/08/2023

You know the old saying, ‘A problem shared is a problem halved’? Well, it turns out that scientific studies actually back this. Talking about our problems can really help to reduce our stress levels and increase our health and happiness. Sharing our thoughts and feelings can bring an immense sense of relief. The fraught feelings within us can become less intense and some of the stress and pain can be alleviated, leaving space in our minds for more healthy, positive and productive thoughts.

22/08/2023

When we bottle up our thoughts and feelings without expressing them, we can find ourselves ruminating on them so much they can start to take up a disproportionate amount of our thinking time. Then they can quickly become exaggerated or distorted in our minds and start to feel overwhelming. Talking to an understanding person about things that are getting us down is a really powerful way to give voice to our thoughts, clear our head and help to take some of the weight off our shoulders.

Our latest blog post, A Born Optimist!, outlines the importance of practising optimism. It’s a vital skill which, thankfully, can be learned and brings with it a host of amazing benefits that will help to bring positivity and success into your life.

26/04/2023

Each time you find yourself having a pessimistic thought, try to consciously stop yourself and think about any positive aspects of the situation, however small they might be. If you turn this into a regular habit, you’ll gradually begin to feel more positive and upbeat about your life.

21/04/2023

Things often turn out according to how we feel about the situation. If a person thinks that something will go well and feels optimistic about it, it usually seems to go well. The same is true of the reverse -when someone feels like something will go badly, it tends to do just that. There’s nothing to lose by expecting the best. In fact, it might just be the key factor that helps your dreams come true.

21/04/2023

Optimists: 1.Achieve their goals. 2. Attract success. 3. Are happier, healthier and more energetic than pessimists. 4. Are easier to be around and inspire others. 5. Live longer and suffer from fewer and less severe diseases. 6. Experience a higher quality of life.

At Thrive Senses we love waterfalls! Why? Because they tick so many wellbeing boxes: being out in nature (always great for a wellbeing boost), exercise (they often include a trek to get there and physical activity is essential to wellbeing), negative ions (moving water creates these mood boosting molecules) and a positive feeling of awe. Countless studies have shown how regular doses of awe are vital for a positive mental outlook!

Our latest blog post, Expect With Confidence, outlines the importance of expecting the best of ourselves and others. Allow your positive expectations to become a self-fulfilling prophecy!
