They say HANDS are the hardest for an artist to paint not only in shape and symmetry but in emotion. Hands carry so much expression. In this photo, I think of a proud man holding the lapels of his coat and another pleading for something: Help? Forgiveness? Mercy? Is this an Executioner? Beggar? Supplication? Threat?
Hands also tell other emotions: Fear, Anxiety, Warmth, Compassion and Love. When I write about my characters I use hands as a way of conveying who they really are. Please comment on what HAND expressions mean to you.
