Great morning spent competing at , placed 6th overall.. Honestly a little disappointed with that cause I made a balls of the first workout and could have done better, but you live and you learn π€·π€·
Came away with another 2.5kg added to my Clean & Jerk PB- I've no video so you'll just have to trust me π 67.5kg... on we go to 70 πͺ.

How I feel about 2020 so far.......
Following on from yesterdayβs discussion on self-love and food etc..... who needs abs when you can just tuck your lower gut into your leggings anyway? π€·π»ββοΈππ

Iβve changed my mentality a lot regarding food in the past year or two.
I had been constantly dieting- binging- gaining weight again- and repeating this process for years since I started going to the gym.

It wasnβt until I started to really focus on improving my athletic ability and stopped focusing so much on how I looked in the mirror (obviously there will always be some focus on this as Iβm only human, but itβs not the main goal anymore), that the person I saw in the mirror became a much more consistent version of who I wanted to be.

A lot of this is to do with mindset, but not forcing myself to be in a constant state of dieting has been huge for me. I can acknowledge times in my life that I was in better or worse physical condition (pre- corona virus being one of those better times), without letting it effect my mood or my self worth.

Basically what this long ass caption was trying to say is- LOVE YASELF and eat the good foods, and some of the bad foods cause they make you feel good too π€π€.

Todayβs fitness was: an 18km cycle with my quarantine buddy π² π.

This was my first ever real cycle (going in and out a couple of km to college on a rusty old mountain bike back in the day doesnβt count)... I absolutely LOVED it!

Gyms being closed is the perfect time to get outside and mix up your normal fitness routine- no excuse for sitting around with all this free time π€·π»ββοΈ.

1. 10 Burpees
2. 50-100m sprint/ 40 sec high knees.
3. 20 butterfly sit-ups.

3 rounds of Tabata (20 sec work/ 10 sec rest x8 rounds).
Alternate between 2 exercises!

My second ever competition, and first one outside of our own gym, and what a floor to compete on! Who would have thought when I went to my first CrossFit class back in January that Iβd be finishing out the year like this ππ».

I couldnβt have asked for better teammates in and ... constantly supporting and pushing each other on! And a huge thanks to everyone from the family who came to support us on the day (and take some cool pics and videos), you guys are the real MVPβs π.

I have a lot of positives to take away from this event, and overall Iβm happy with how I performed on the day, but seeing other teams and elite athletes taking the floor has really just hammered home the fact that there is always, and will always be so much to work on in this sport! Onwards and upwards from here πͺπΌ.

The whole thing didnβt take any more than 45 minutes (with massive rests and chats in between π), I got a good sweat on, and worked on a few weaknesses all at the same time πͺπΌ.

I definitely didnβt set the world on fire with my speed here, but Iβve noted my times for both workouts and plan on re-testing them again in 4-6 weeks to see if thereβs any improvement in my endurance by then!

HUGE Client win this week! Jessica started with me back in July.. she finished her final session last night, and is now spreading her wings and going out into the big bad world of fitness by herself πͺπΌ.

The results here speak for themselves and are an absolute testament to the hard work and dedication Jessica has put in over the last few months! I honestly couldnβt have asked for more cooperation than I got from this girl!

Absolutely no questions, Jess did everything I asked of her and then some; from training 2x per week by herself outside of our sessions, to tracking calories and hitting a protein target, to adding in extra mobility to improve her range of motion... she gave 110% to everything we did, and has come on in leaps and bounds! She is now fully confident stepping into the gym by herself, and I couldnβt be more confident that this is only the beginning for her ππ½.

As a PT, I donβt have a magic wand, I can simply give advice and encouragement to my clients, but the work comes down to them and them alone. Jess put in the work, and sheβs gotten incredible results because of her commitment!.

My neck and back have been in a HOOP the last few days, and I wanted to get them sorted before I attempt 20.2 tonight!

After 7 weeks of work on my Olympic Lifting, yesterday marked the first day of testing ππ½.

I tested my sn**ch in week 1 and hit a max of 44kg (1kg lower than my previous best), after re-testing yesterday, I brought it up to 47.5kg!

Itβs not a massive jump, but with such technical lifts, I wasnβt expecting it to be.. just happy to see some improvements πͺπΌ.
